Shinsous POV
It was early in the morning when there was a knock at the orphanage's thick oak door. I had looked down the hall to see if any of the staff members were going to answer it, but I quickly realized they were still asleep. Sighing, I quietly walked over to the door and opened it as quietly as possible.
Now I was expecting to see a Jehovah's Witness or some girl scouts trying to sell me thin mints, but instead I was met with a man with blonde hair slicked up with gel. His hair wasn't the only weird thing about him, He was also wearing a weird black robe, a brown hat, and holding a broomstick.
"Ah hello Hitoshi! Are you ready to leave?", The man cheerfully exclaimed. God it's too fucking early for this bullshit.
"Uh- I'm sorry, who are you?", I questioned, slowly closing the door.
"Oh right! I'm Hizashi Yamada, The spells teacher of UA Academy! I'm here to bring you to school since you missed the bus the other day!" He explained, tapping his fingers on the shaft of the broom.
"I'm sorry, Spells teacher? Look man I think you should go hom-", but before i could finish he interrupted me.
"Look kid as much as I would love to continue this back and forth, We have to get to UA. Otherwise, you're not gonna be able to meet your teachers or find your dorm." Mr. Yamada sounded urgent, annoyed almost.
"I really don't understand what you're going on about dude-" I tried saying more but once again, I was interrupted.
"Oh you weren't told! Well then I'll sum it up for ya! You're a witch, Ready to go now?"
Normally this shit wouldn't effect me that much, But then everything started making sense. That time those bullies at school went flying out the door after constantly tripping me, Or the time one of the staff members refused to help me get to school after I missed the bus and less than two minutes later her car had broken down in the middle of the highway, Or-
Suddenly Mr. Yamadas voice pulled me from my thoughts, "Well are you coming or not?"
I glanced back down the hall to be sure no one was there then took a deep breath and nodded. Mr. Yamada grinned and helped me onto his broom, And I was honestly really surprised when we actually started flying, fucking flying.
"Oh my god is this real? How the fuck are you doing this?" I managed to get out, staring at the city far below our feet.
"It's just simple beginners magic! Since you're so behind, You're going to be doing a couple beginners classes. Such as broom riding, spell casting, and first year witch history!", He said as the broom raised us above the clouds so we could see the early morning sunrise.
This all felt like a dream honestly, It was all so surreal. I reached my arm out to touch some of the clouds to make sure everything was real and sure enough, when I pulled my hand back it was damp and covered in dew.
~~
We had been flying for nearly forty minutes before I saw what looked like a fantasy castle. There was a huge main building with torrents and towers, some of them crumbling due to erosion and age while others looked brand new and polished. On the left side of the school grounds was a large greenhouse and garden filled with plants I've never seen before.
On the other side of campus was a large building with seven sections, all of them looking quite out of place with each other. I mean hell, one had a fucking green house! The more I looked at the building the more I noticed about another section that seemed to lead into the goddamn lake! And that was a whole other thing, this school had a medium sized lake with a tiny "island" in the center where people were manipulating water and occasionally splashing it in each other's faces.
As we started descending, I noticed a few more things about the school. For starters, the front yard was crowded with a bunch of teens doing things like playing sports, reading what I assume are spell books, some were even flying around on brooms too.
"Alright I gotta head out, be sure to go to the front office and ask Mr. Aizawa for course choices and your dorm key." Mr. Yamada said as he helped me off the broom then immediately flew away.
Slowly I looked around, then smiled the tiniest bit. It can't be too hard to learn magic.
