Where are you now when I need you most?

Dread fills my entire body.

My heart raced so wildly that I feared it would explode.

My mouth drops open, and I feel my face begin to flush.

"Sh-" my voice is low and shaky.

My hands are trembling.

My gaze shifts to the two in front of me.

They were staring at me.

I stare at Ethan without blinking.

Don't freak out

Don't freak out

Don't freak out

Don't freak out

I clear my throat. "Y-yes," every nerve in my body is on edge as I maintain my composure.

"Shit. Shit shit shit! Alyssa, I need your help! They're coming after me and-

"Who?" I breathed out.

My hands were clenched under the table, and I could feel my nails digging roughly into my skin.

"Where are you right now?" His panicked voice rings in my ears.

"I'm at the precinct, y-yeah," I glance at the door, trying to sound normal, knowing they're watching my every single move.

"Please, stay there! Alyssa, do not leave!"

"Why?" I clear my throat, "what's happening?" I plaster a smile.

"I don't know how long I have but I need you to do something," his voice is trembling.

"Everything okay?" I glance up at the roof, keeping my composure as I speak.

"It doesn't—it doesn't matter anymore. The paper with the coordinates, do you still have it?"

My mind goes blank.

The paper.

The paper I so confidently threw in the drainage hole.

But I remember those coordinates with my life.

"No."

"No? No, what do you mean no? Did you lose it?" His voice was frantic.

"It's been taken care of, don't worry," I smile. "I remember them so well," I shake my head, smiling.

"I miss you so much, Alyssa," his voice breaks along with my heart.

"What's wrong?" My voice breaks and I force a timid smile.

"Hello?"

No sound.

"Hey?" I speak into the phone.
