Chapter 5.

You opened your door to see Enoch standing there. "Can I come in?" He asked, leaning on the doorframe and refraining from making eye contact. "Yeah, yeah come in." You walked back over to your bed and he closed the door behind him. He came over and sat down next to you.

Neither one of you said anything for a minute, but then you spoke up. "Enoch, can I be honest with you?" You didn't look at him, but you saw him squeeze his hands together. "Yeah, what is it?" He said softly. You dropped your head a bit, staring at your socks. "I think...I think I have feelings for you." You sat up a bit, and looked over at him. He had turned to look at you too, and he didn't say anything for a moment.

"...So do I." He moved his hand over yours. The two of you scooted a bit closer, then he took his free hand and gently cupped your cheek. You both leaned in closer, growing just inches apart, your lips almost touching, and finally, your lips connected and it felt like the world fell away. You didn't know how you stayed like that, but eventually, he broke the kiss and pressed your foreheads together.

"That was nice." He said, giving you a full, big smile. "You have such a handsome smile y'know." You put your hand on his cheek and stared into his eyes. The two of you jumped away from each other when you heard a knock on the door and Miss Peregrine opened it. "Y/n, dear, we're about to reset the loop-" She stopped and stared at the two of you for a second before continuing. "Well, both of you come downstairs." She said, turning and quickly walking out. The two of you looked at each other, and then started laughing. After a minute you stood and Enoch took your hand as you went downstairs to watch the reset.

You stood behind the other kids, still holding his hand and as Miss Peregrine came outside and got ready to reset the day, you laid your head on his shoulder. The reset was absolutely beautiful, and as everyone went back inside, you were just ready to sleep.

After every one was in their rooms sleeping, you stared up at the ceiling, thinking of Enoch. Eventually, you just said screw it and quietly made your way down the hallway. You slowly pushed his door open, closing it behind you and walked over to his bed. He was sleeping peacefully, his chest rising and falling softly. You gingerly sat on the bed and laid down next to him.

He looked so peaceful, and you gave him a soft kiss and snuggled into his chest, wrapping your arms around him. He opened his eyes, looking down at you and pulling you tighter against him. "goodnight." You said quietly, before closing your eyes. You felt him kiss the top of your head before you drifted into a dreamless sleep.

The next morning, you woke to Enoch's arm still wrapped around you, and he was already awake. "Morning." He said, tilting his head to kiss you. You wrapped your arms around his neck and smiled into the kiss. The two of you pulled apart slowly. "I don't wanna get up." You groaned, cuddling back into him.

The two of you laid in bed for another half hour, before there was a knock on the door and you could hear Emma's voice. "Enoch, come downstairs, you'll miss breakfast!" He sat up a bit, very annoyed at the interruption. "I don't care, go away!" He yelled back, which only caused Emma to keep knocking. He got up with a huff and flung the door open.

"You know Miss Peregrine doesn't like us to skip breakfast." You couldn't see her, but Enoch rolled his eyes. You heard her walk away, her lead shoes pounding the floor, and you got out of his bed. "We should really get up." You said, stretching your arms. "I thought you wanted to stay in bed." He wrapped his arms around you and tried to walk you back over to the bed. "Enoch, we have to eat!" You said, struggling out of his grip and laughing.
