GUYS I'M SO PROUD OF MY CAIT SITH (CAN YOU SEE IT?!)! OKAY, CONTINUE, PEASANTS ;)
"Cmon Reno, don't be so dramatic," I huff, his weight nearly crushing me as we make our way to the infirmary.
"Ain't... Bein' dramatic," he winces as he takes another step.
"Yeah right."
"He is leaving a trail of blood through the building," Rude points out. I turn to glare at him.
"Why don't you help?" With a heavy sigh, he takes over, practically dragging the poor beat up redhead. "It's fine if he leans on you, 'cuz you're a freaking wall. But he was squishing me."
"Shut up..." Reno grumbles. "Yer lucky I was there to get cut up fer ya." I raise an eyebrow and look up at Rude.
"Is it just me or does his drawl get worse when he's light headed?" Rude gives me a small amused smile, me holding open a swinging door open for him. Beyond the double doors is a world of white, a practical hospital beneath Shinra's main personal offices. One of the many trained doctors takes notice of Reno being dragged in and he hurries toward us, pointing silently to a numbered door. Then he follows us in.
"Do I even want to know, Reno?" He raises an eyebrow. So does this guy take care of Re a lot?
"Eh. Got roughed up by Avalanche."
"And you were on your own?" He asks, digging through his cabinets.
"Nah, Kat was there."
"A cat?"
"Me!" I say in frustration, throwing my hands in the air. "I'm so sick of that mistake!" Rude catches my eye, passing a secret message that makes me shut up and quit complaining. The name thing's my fault anyway...
"I see." Then he looks back at Reno. "You took a nasty blow to your leg; I don't think you'll be wearing those pants again."
" 's okay. I got lots of 'em."
"Alright." He turns to me. "You may want to leave. I need to remove his pants, and you never know when this man is going commando." I laugh and leave the room, grateful for the warning. So, I just lamely sit out in the hall, listening to Reno's shouts and curses with a smirk on my face. Sure, my own injuries ache, and my arm's bleeding nonstop, but I'll be better off than him.
The sound of the door closing makes me look up, Rude looking down at me. I just grin up at him like a retard before getting to my feet.
"So? They gonna amputate it?" I tease. He shakes his head, glancing at my arm.
"Come with me." Shrugging, I follow him down the hall and catch sight of some guy in a white coat with his back to us. Then he turns and I freeze. No... The shock is hidden well but is still visible in my eyes until he smiles gently and sticks out his hand.
"You must be Kat.""Rude, I can't," I murmur, backing off. The bald man raises an eyebrow at me, curious about my reaction.
"What's wrong?" The man raises an eyebrow, the smirk all too familiar in his eyes. Who is he? I can't remember his name...
"Nothing," I shake my head. Why is my heart beating so fast?
