The sun was high in the sky as the boy trotted down the halls. His eyes roamed around as his feet forced him to continue his mission. The sun slooded in through the clear sparkling windows to illuminate the pale white walls and paintings that hung every few feet. Beneath his feet sat a soft rug that kept him from sliding as he continued on.
Next to the boy a pale cream cat trotted along with him. The cats black paws made no noise as they quickly hit the carpet as he caught to keep up with his human counterpart. His little black ears twitched as his yellow eyes peered up at his owner. For quite a few moments neither of them made a sound. Finally the boy sighed. He carelessly put his hair into a loose ponytail, which it could barely fit into, and brushed back some of the chocolate brown strands of hair left over after. He searched past each door for what felt like an hour until he finally made it to a specific room. His ocean blue eyes poked into the room to look, eventually landing on the only man in the room.
The man was tall and slender. Most of his face, other then a small portion of the right half, was covered. His one dark grey eye glanced over to the door to see the boy poking his head in. He pushed his white hair back a bit before he fully acknowledged him.
"Arther, glad to see you're finally up. Come on in. I wanna talk to you about something." The man spoke in a flat tone. The brown haired boy, Arther, walked in, the cat following quickly in toe. Arther smiled brightly as he looked at the older man.
"Yeah? What's up, Kakashi?" The boy spoke, sounding chipper and cheerful. Kakashi waited a moment before starting. He wanted to make sure the young man would fully take in what he was about to tell him.
"I think it's about time we talk about you." Kakashi started calmly. Arther tilted his head slightly, but didn't say anything yet.
"You're 17, you know. Soon enough you'll be primed to take the throne. That's a big deal, Arther." Kakashi stated, as if it were new news. Arther sighed slightly, but his sweet smile didnt dim or faulter.
"I know." He just responded, still cheery. Kakashi sighed again, heavier this time.
"Well if you know then you should understand why you need to start maturing more. I know you're capable of taking the throne and being a fantastic leader, but you can't possibly take that task if you are not mature enough for it. You are going to be the first king of this new generation. Many people are going to depend on you. Hundreds of people even. It's more daunting then I think you're letting yourself think." Kakashi continued, keeping his tone stern and serious. His grey eye stared at Arther, internally praying for a good response.
"I know. I'll be fine whenever that comes, but until then I wanna have fun while I can." The younger boy simply answered, leaning down to pet the cat that had been co tenuously rubbing on his legs. Kakashi didn't bother to feel disheartened at his lack of care for the subject. He had the feeling this is how this conversation was going to go.
"Arther I need you to seriously think about it. Soon you'll be the one making decisions for this kingdom. Every subject will look to you for guidance and safety. The entirety of the Spade kingdom will rest on your shoulders." The older man continued, still attempting to push it into the boys mind.
However dispite his attempts Arther looked neither worried or thoughtful on the subject. The young prince simply shrugged, still holding that pure smile.
"Like I said I'll worry about that when it comes. I just want to live for awhile before I ascend the throne." Arther responded, a soft laugh interrupting his words at the thought of it all. It would be easy to do. Afterall everything would just mostly fall into place, right? Arther smiled more at Kakashi waiting to see if the man wanted to ramble more on the subject. Kakashi simply shook his head.
