Scrunching their faces in annoyance at the arrival of dusk, our characters furrowed their eyebrows. They tightly pressed their eyelids together, grunting whilst tossing in the bed.

"Go," Cameron threw his hand on Samuel's face, half asleep as he tried to mutter a full sentence, "Go close the curtains Sam," he pinched the other man's nose, the latter's mouth letting out incomprehensible words and sounds that even he wouldn't be able to translate.

"It's your house," Sam, eyes still closed like his lover, replied in displeasure  while seizing the hand on his face to throw it away, "Do it yourself," he tossed, his back now turned from the other man.

"Wow what a great boyfriend," Cameron grumbled, sitting up, still attempting to open his eyes in vain.

"How did they get open anyway," Samuel whispered, his conscience on the brink of letting him go as he slipped into sloth once again.

"I don't know," Cam walked to the curtains, shutting them together, nearly tripping when he hit his foot against his bedside table, "Fuck," he muttered under his breath, flopping his entire body on the bed, his legs straightened out of the furniture as only half of his body rested on it.

"Don't swear so early in the morning," Samuel chukled sluggishly, this time throwing a hand on his lover's head to make sure he's okay.

"Shut the fuck up," Cameron slapped the palm away, crawling to get into a comfortable position, practically pulling all the blankets on his side.

Noticing the irritation in his tone, Samuel turned to face his boyfriend's back, pulling him closer to his chest, "Look it's just a pair of curtains, no big deal."

"Yeah, and your balls are just a pair of useless flesh," he pinched the arms that rested atop his hip.

"Not so useless when I'll bury them deep inside of you-" Samuel, way too accustomed to this title of 'boyfriend', whispered in the man's ear, receiving an direct elbow hit to his stomach, leaving him gasping for air.

"Sir," Cameron muttered, "This is embarrassing," he yawned, "I thought you weren't gay."

"I'm still very much into boobs and ass," Sam replied, lighting more insecurity on Cameron's mind that he somehow extinguished right away, "However, the difference now is that I'm the one wrapped around your little finger."

"So you were a playboy huh."

"Yeah," Sam grinned, "Jealous?"

Bickering as always, it took them some minutes before Cameron trailed off to sleep, his slow breathing tempting Samuel to follow, yet the man found himself unable to fall back asleep. He grabbed his phone, browsing through the news until a notification popped on this screen.

Unknown Number : I got your number from Priscilla, Olivia here.

You : Yo, you're doing better?

Olivia : I'm good. Is Cameron okay?

You : As long as I'm here yeah.

Olivia : (ー_ー)

Olivia : Anyway, I got something important to discuss with you, are you free?

You : Yeah?

Olivia : It's about Cam.

You : Obviously it is, I don't think you'd have a reason to contact me else ;)

Samuel glanced at the sleeping man besides him, his arm starting to cramp up because of the weight of Cameron's head, but our protagonist had only one worry; that his phone wouldn't slip and fall flat on his face.

Relatable.

Olivia : Anyway, Matt told me something, and ever since, it's been lingering on my mind.

Olivia : So we both know Cam is a big shot, right?

Olivia : Apparently there's someone who "is willing to pay good money" for him.

Olivia : And I think this could be trouble.

You : Yeah, right.

You : Thanks for telling me Olive, I'll do something about it - don't stress.

You : Probably some dumbo who doesn't know what he's gotten himself into, should be resolved in no time.

Olivia : If you say so.

Olivia : Alright, you go back to whatever you were doing, I'll see you.

Olivia : And take care of Cam.

You : He is my boyfriend now, of course I will. There's so need for your concern ;)

Olivia : I bet two bodies he chooses my son over you.

You : Worst thing is that you're right.

You : (T_T)

Olivia : ;)

"Why do you always seem to attract problems wherever you go?", Samuel kissed his boyfriend's forehead, sighing while going back to his phone.

It had been three days. Three days of living off of instant noodles, fruits and coffee. Three days of staying in bed all day, scrolling on their phones while the only breaks they took were shower, bathroom and food.

Winter was embodying itself, temperature dropping by the minute and the only thing everyone awaited was snow. Their apartment was silent, both day and night and the street lights seemed to be useless through the lack of human presence outside.

Dull. The atmosphere outside was dull. It could be comparable to that of a lockdown; an apocalyse even. The chirps of birds, chants of children, roar of vehicles and the husle and busle of an average busy day were all gone; the humanoid aspect of this part of town ceased to exist.

But why is the narrator describing that?

Let's compare it to our characters.

Cameron; He could be described as this 'dull' kind of person, always keeping to himself and scurrying away from human interactions. And Sam; the husle and busle that only some people seem to appreciate. Both so different, yet they bring this sort of balance to one another.

As peaceful as winter.

Yet, the snowstorm approaching shouldn't be ignored.
