The Lake Girl

Chapter 2- Earth

Luana always slept for days without waking up, it was a way for her body to survive underwater, sometimes she slept for years.  She doesn't know how much time has passed since she was arrested here, but she can more or less say that if more than a thousand years have passed, she's sure things outside have already changed a lot, it's not the same thing before she was arrested. on the lake

   Sometimes she longs to eat human food again, her sweet broth chicken that her lady made for her birthdays.  And her sisters, and she misses talking and being heard.

   she misses her room, the heat on her skin.  Sometimes she just wanted to be seen, she's tired of living in the dark and feeling nothing but the cold of the water.

   Luana felt that the chains that held her were made of magic, because they shone when the moon appeared in the sky, and when the sun came back, the glow disappeared, and so it was done every day.  It had been days since that girl had appeared, Luana no longer had much of a sense of time for her. A day could be months in the human world, or it could be the other way around.

   Her mind was never completely sane, but one day something made her wake up, she felt that someone was grabbing her legs, she felt a heat, for the first time in years, she felt scared at the sensation and was startled pulling her leg and looking down to see who was holding his leg his heart had not felt a beat in years, sped up.

   The girl the other day was trying to loosen the chains from her legs, with a tool that Luana didn't recognize, the girl didn't just say anything, but Luana didn't need to, she heard a thought to not be afraid, and so she left the girl pick up her legs and let go.

   As it was taking time to break the girl would go up to breathe and come back, she did this for hours, but the currents were getting light so it was darkening the human world.  The girl was trying to break one of the chains, but it took a while for that to happen, it seemed that the chains were made of the hardest iron in the world, it didn't break so easily.

   But by a miracle one of the chains broke and the girl smiled, but it was a mistake she swallowed some water forcing her back up, and she swam out leaving Luana alone again.

   Luana felt happy and sad, joy because one of the chains was broken and another because she was alone.  For the first time she felt the presence of someone she could see in decades.

   Her heart rejoiced at a small victory of the day, the best thing in decades that had happened to her.  Luana noticed that the girl's haircut had changed, from short hair to long brown hair.

   Then she confirmed that it had been quite some time since their first date.  Luana didn't realize that she had fallen asleep, she woke up again when she felt that she was being picked up and pulled.  If her startling opened her eyes, she was being carried by the girl upstairs.

   The emotion took over, she was being released from the water, she was going to be free of it.  Her heart started beating again, closer and closer to the earth, closer and closer to the sun, she could see the sun shine brighter.

   The girl carried her out of the lake, when they emerged out of the water, Luana felt that her skin was on fire, she started to move to try to relieve herself of the pain, letting go of the girl and going back to the bottom, but before if he sinks any further the girl grabbed his arm and screamed.

   - Stop!

   Her ears hurt as if they were going to explode with pain, she hadn't heard a voice up close in a long time, her body wasn't used to it.  The girl pulled her to earth, Luana felt that her body was used to the heat on her skin, she smiled at the texture of the earth.  "Earth, finally land" she thought, touching the earth with her hands.  "it's real earth", with such joy she took the earth in her mouth and swallowed it, the girl seeing this pulled her arm and screamed again.

   - Don't do that, land is not for eating.

   Luana looked at her and smiled, 'it was like my mother'.

   - You know how to talk ?

   " talk, I? "

   - I don't know.

   The girl in front of her burst out laughing.

   - As you don't know, you just spoke.

   Luana noticed that she spoke, that her voice came out of her throat.

   - I talked.  She started to laugh at the tone of her voice, she found it strange the language she just spoke was not hers.
