After I'm done my homework, I go downstairs to get a snack. I open the fridge, grab a Kool-Aid and a bag of chips from the cupboard. As I am about to go back upstairs, my mom walks into the kitchen.

"Sweetie you do know that I love you very much, right?" She asks, trying to get me on her side of the argument.

"Mom, I don't really want to have this conversation right now." I respond, not making eye contact.

"We are going to have this conversation because I need to know where you stand in all of this. Now, tell me who you want to live with, and I will let you live with one of us."

"Mom I can't just choose! You and dad need to figure out what's happening between you and then see what happens! You guys don't even know if your splitting up yet!!"

"WE ARE! WE MADE THE DECISION LAST NIGHT WHEN YOU WERE ASLEEP! YOUR DAD IS MOVING TO VANCOUVER NEXT WEEKEND!" My mom shouted. I stand there speechless. Why didn't my dad tell me this earlier? He was talking to me about how he will make sure that we will be together and... Wait! That must be it!

"Well?" My mom says, impatiently.

"Give me some time. I will let you guys know what my decision is tonight." I respond, so angry. I don't know what to think right now.

At that I run upstairs with tears in my eyes and grab a blanket and a pillow, and sit in my bay window again cuddled up to my giant stuffed bear. I take my phone out of my pocket and text my dad. I ask what I should do. He didn't respond which got me worried. A few minutes later he walks into my bedroom. He looks nervous. Really nervous.
