"Good morning Ice~"

My eyes flutter open in a panic but I calmed down when I see Phos.

"Good morning, Phos." I said half-awake and yawning. "Thank you for waking me." It been a long time since anyone did that for me. It's... a nice feeling.

"It's time for morning assembly, let go."

Sleepy, I clings to Phos' arm as we walk, almost nodding off a few times on the way. I'm definitely not a morning person but a night owl instead...

We eventually arrive at the assembly area at the first floor. A large table sits in the middle with a single desk and couple of chairs of varying sizes surrounding it. Sensei was already there, seems like we were a few minutes late.

"Today, we will begin your lessons Ice." Sensei unveiling a book from his robesleeve. "Phos, your schedule is the same."

"Yes Sensei. I will see you later Ice okay?"

"Yeah." Phos waves goodbye as she walks towards the direction of the ice floes.

I settle down at the lone desk with a language textbook and pencil.

There are large differences in the written language I know and the written language used by the gems. It's going to take a while...

...

Reading and writing lessons were hard, ugh.

I'm bored, time to do something fun. It's the end of the day, all tasks are probably done by now.

Now is the time to start a snowball fight with Phos hehe. Picking up a handful of snow and formed a snowball, I launched a sneak attack on Phos.

"Hey! No fair!" Phos said offendedly.

She used her gold alloys as tentacles to gather snow from outside and counter attacked me with deadly efficiency.

"Your alloys are too strong!" I replied and hid behind the pillars around the school. Looks like I might lose this little war...

Several days passed like this while you also helps Phos with miscellaneous stuff around the school and the island.

Phos showed you all kinds of cool tricks with her malleable, gold arms while chatting till a sunspot appeared in the distance.

It was one those rare sunny and clear days. Phos created a shield and platform from her gold heels to protect and lift both of you to the towards the sunspot. Once near enough to the large lunarian figure, in one fell swoop of her saw sword, the large lunarian figure were cut half and dispersed into mist. But one of normal-sized lunarian archer before dispersing shot an arrow at Phos. Reacting too late, the arrow chipped part of her face off.

"Ah. I was careless..." She gathers her pieces. "That was so uncool." she grasped the pieces and put it into her suit's inner pocket.

"That's fine, everyone make mistakes. Let me patch you up." You takes Phos' hand as you walk towards the school, with Phos keeping an eye on the sky just in case the lunarians try anything funny.

The two of us reached the school without incident.

"Right, hold still Phos." You applied glue to the chipped part of Phos and put it back where it belongs. "There you go!"

"Thanks, Ice." I can't help but feel that Phos changed because of me. It weighs heavily on my heart. There are... amends to be made.

By returning that doesn't belong to me. But I didn't have the courage to return Phos' arms. Phos is stronger now, she wanted this... As I delude myself that things are better this way...

"..."

I can see Phos looking in the horizon with a sad look in her eyes.

She probably thinking about Antarcticite...

I made up my mind. I will be your Antarcticite, Phos.

I decided to put my arm around Phos and said. "The sunset is beautiful, don't you agree?"

"Yeah." Phos replied with a small smile.
