Jamie 'Phoenix' Adeyemi

I can already smell the consequences of my actions, the guilt hasn't gotten to me yet but if I don't make a run for it now, it might catch up to me with this tragedy. I'm stumbling backwards while I eyeball down what I've just done. A beautifully built school, big enough for thousands of students with large, carved, white stone pillars and quartz burning to ash. The crackling and screams accentuate the ignited flames cowering over London.  The way the place I've called how is burning pierces me right through the heart, the memories I've made and the lessons I learned are blazing away with the people I've put in danger and my heart is charred. I'm watching myself become a monster.

Acting is a great pleasure, I love to act hence why I've decided to come to London College of Performing Arts and Speech. I enjoy the spotlight and- oh who am I kidding. My Ma always thought I was more fit for engineering (which I am not for ya info) and enrolled me in this place instead! I was gutted, honest to god I contemplated dropping out but my Ma would've been absolutely brassed yeah? And I know I know, quick thinking is more my thing than logical thinking but I needed a way to get outta there, ya feel me? Ma can't get mad at me for leaving if that school burnt down anyways.

I've legged it, this feels like a movie - I guess as an aspiring actor that should be a good sign that I'm doin' somethin' right but this ain't it. Committing a crime isn't as badass as the films make it out to be and gunning it down the courtyard of my used-to-be College while leaving all my shit behind with the not-so faint screams of professors still in the building (their fault for being in there at 12a.m) and the crisp smell of burnt. I'm tryna muster up some sorta guilt but right now the adrenaline's really kicking my ass. I'm thinking about how many of those oldies got a ring this mornin' - or maybe are getting it right now and can't pick up cause they're burning.

Running has always been a good thing for me to do to get away from my school however before today I wasn't running away from it burning down but I've got enough muscle to keep things moving, I made it past the park not too far from my school and have already dodged behind some trees and I can feel my phone ringing. I'm thinking it's one of my mates from school checking up on me to see if I'm all good or maybe my Ma and I'm pretty hesitant to grab my phone. I don't know how to lie to them - in case they have any suspicions that it was actually me. My phone keeps buzzing and eventually the vibration against my thigh is enough to piss me off and so I grab it. It's an unknown number and after what just happened I don't even know who it could be but the possibility that they know I'm a criminal could be pretty high -- so why not pick it up? Maybe I can clear myself off early.

"Hello? Is this Jamie Adeyammy?" The fact whoever this lady is knows my name (but can't pronounce it - what a duff) can't be a good sign, yeah? Maybe I should've left my phone in my pocket.

Hiding my identity for now without answering that won't be a challenge, I'm not in the mood to be nicked off right to jail at this moment - I've hardly lived the thrill yeah?

"Who is this?"

"This is Opal from Death-Cast, is this Jamie Adeyammy?"

Well if karma hasn't wedged its way all the way up my ass at all, this oughtta do the trick. Bloody hell. "Yes, this is Jamie." I can pretend to stay calm, in fact I am trying to stay calm, but bruv- who can actually be that chill when ya' could die at any moment?

"Hello Jamie, I'm sorry to inform you but you are going to die within the next 24 hours. If you have any special requests regarding your death now is your time to let me know or instead I can provide some ways to keep your End Day eventful."
