That exact same dream gives Kiyoomi Sakusa sleepless nights and neverending nightmares. For the past three months, he was kept bombarded by the thoughts of Atsumu Miya.
If it's bad for him, his temper became worst than ever. He became colder than ice or even than Hokkaido itself. No one dares to talk to him anymore... not even his fan girls approach the team's ace.
I'll get rid of this stupid thoughts inside my head soon! He knew he would... But...
How wrong is he anyway?
Never once Sakusa was able to get rid of those tears, and screams, and cries from the certain blonde setter. It was enough to keep him wide awake at night affecting his performance in his classes, volleyball club, and daily living.
It was irritatingly annoying.
Komori noticed, but wasn't even know how to help his poor cousin. The spiker even consulted their family doctor, just to be given sleeping pills. He would fall asleep literally, but it just prolonged his suffering seeing the same crying face of Atsumu Miya. Subconsciously, Kiyoomi wanted to give the faux blonde a warm hug... a comforting one. He wished to see Atsumu once again and gave the setter the warmth and comfort he could give.
Would that even be a good idea? He always argue inside his head.
For the last three months, though it seldom happens, Kiyoomi skips practice for having flu and experience fatigue, and insomnia. Well, it was counted beyond 10 fingers that his parents and siblings (who were all living away in Canada) got worried. He assured them however that he's fine and it's just the weather, climate change, and global warming
Who am I even fooling?! He questioned himself, putting up an obvious lie.
For him, it wasn't that bad since he can still perfom well as the team's spiker and ace. Even suffering from insomnia and other psychological traumas (his doctor claimed), Kiyoomi Sakusa was declared one of the top aces in Japan as the opening of classes begun that year.
It was the same time as well that Atsumu was considered as the Best HighSchool Setter not only in Hyogo but in the nation. He was on the top for winning both the Inter-Mid and Inter-High Best Setter Award. He and Osamu even were titled as the Best Twins in Volleyball.
This news reached Sakusa. But, Atsumu wasn't informed of the new ace's ranking. Firstly, he was intensely depressed about his ex to care about anything. Secondly, when Kita and the others watched the video announcing the ranking, all of them decided not to show it to the setter. You may have guess why... Because all of them noticed how Itachiyama's ace has a great resemblance to Kakuri- Atsumu's ex and former Inarizaki volleyball boys club manager.
Both Kakuri and Sakusa have curly raven hair, and dark eyes. Their facial features are more likely mirror- like reflection especially if you are gonna look at their photos. Kakuri however was much taller than Sakusa, but the spiker got better build. The only thing that separates their looks is Sakusa's moles above his brow. But all in all, Sakusa and Kakuri are really identical.
Osamu got worried, and just thinking of putting his brother to that same pain almost feels like it kills the younger Miya. He wouldn't let Atsumu suffer more.
Atsumu would still cry of the thought of his ex-boyfriend. He would lock himself up, even cut his arms with sharp objects which made Osamu extremely overly protective and concern about his brother.
That is why, Osamu started keeping all the sharp objects inside their house away. He would even check his big brother's bag every morning and every night to check all Atsumu's stuff... To make sure that the blonde isn't buying or holding any dangerous things that may hurt himself.
Osamu was relieved every time. That is just enough development for now. But he's still worried.
Thankfully, inside the court Atsumu reigns as the best in being a server, and a renowned setter. He was most likely free and happier inside the game which makes Osamu thankful. The team was also very supportive about helping Atsumu emotionally and mentally.
Sakusa actually had it bad recently, he would eventually fall asleep in class and went home with bags in his eyes. There's this one time when a teacher noticed and called him up.
"Are you alright, Sakusa-kun?" she asked as soon as the ravenhead lifted his face.
Sakusa seemed confused as he looked around him, unconformtably staring back at his classmates' eyes. Then he turned to his Literature teacher standing right in front of him
The teacher repeated the question with worried facial expression. "Are you okay?"
Kiyoomi slightly nodded.
"Are you sick or something?" the teacher asked about to touch Sakusa's forehead, but quickly retreated her hands realizing how the student's face painted with terror.
"I'm sorry-... It slips out of my mind. You.. You can stay in the clinic if you are not feeling so well." she continued as she realized that the boy is a germaphobe."Clinic? No.. Not that dirty little space-" Sakusa spoke frowning, mask still up
"It is always sanitized and disinfected-" the teacher answered but was cut off by the spiker.
"Sick students stay there. No place is clean enough." Sakusa complained plainly looking awfully exhausted.
Just then, Komori knocked on the door, opening it and peeking inside.
"Excuse me, sensei. You called for me?" he greeted with a small smile."Ah! Komori-kun. Great timing. You see, I think Sakusa-kun isn't feeling so well. Could you assist him going home this lunch break?" she asked walking near the door and smiling at the libero.
"Ah. Yeah Sure, Sensei." he answered.
That day was just worse than the usual. Komori thought.
That usually happens. And oftentimes, when Kiyoomi's sick, there's just one name he kept speaking of.
He once visited Kiyoomi when he was sick, and worriedly watched as Sakusa twist and turn on the bed, panting and gasping for air. The libero shook Sakusa to wake him up, but instead the spiker just opened his mouth and mumbled some words which Komori was very incomprehensible except from one certain name.
"A-... Atsu..mu.. Atsumu.. At.. Atsu." he kept whispering... "Where...- Atsu..mu.. Where... are.. you?"
Komori realized that Kiyoomi's been off since their trip to Hyogo, and for certain that little incident in the train station made his cousin bothered and vulnerable. Atsumu Miya makes Sakusa Kiyoomi miserable.
When their team captain announced that week that the Youth Training Camp would be held soon, Komori's mouth literally dropped wide open. He doesn't even know how to take it. Both he and Sakusa are to attend, that's not the issue... but what makes him extremely concern is seeing the list of names of participants for the training.
"Miya Atsumu" Komori speak to himself, and watched as Kiyoomi's face contorted with blush of pink reading the setter's name.
It's gonna be tough and rough. The same thought runs across Komori and Osamu's thoughts as they were informed of the training participants.
