Chapter Nine of One

"Are you still sulking?" Somi asked Lisa while she shared a meal with her at the long table. Jackson's wedding reception to his childhood friend Yuqi is currently being held at Sono Belle Hotels and Resorts.

And here she is now, eating her heart out to the happy newlyweds. She became even more jealous when her cousin, a freelance professional photographer, Bambam, who was dancing with his  beautiful girlfriend Mina. Next month, they will also get married.

She never thought she would be jealous of people getting married. Back then, she could only think of one thing about wedding: Game over.

But when she entered a fake marriage for a short time, has changed a lot in her disposition in life.

It is good to be married! she think.

"This is all about Jennie, right?"

She raised her face from what she's eating.
"Somi, Jennie is not a bad person. She just didn't want to hurt her family that's why she did it. And why are you the one who is so angry when Jackson oppa himself did not get to be angry with her?

"You're in love with her, aren't you?" Somi asked smiling.

She became quiet suddenly.

"You didn't just give her simple help, Lisa."

"Just mind you own business, cous." she snorts softly.

But hell, these past few months without seeing Jennie was giving her a feeling of intense melancholy. She missed her terribly. She missed her presence, her sweet scent, her voice, her smile..

They were also talking on the phone, but she concluded that she was the only one interested in talking to the woman. It seems like she was in a hurry to finished their phone conversation. Was she avoiding her? But why?

"Why don't you go see her? She's almost here in Yongsan-gu, right?" Somi prodded. "Why don't you invite her here in Sono Belle Hotels and Resorts? You can stay in one of the cottages on the edge of the sea, so that both of you have a privacy." her cousin teased.

She frowned. "Why the sudden change of heart, cousin? Back then, all you want to do was tear Jennie apart in anger."

Somi became serious. "The impact she made on you was intense. You've changed so much, Lisa. You almost live in the office, eh? I think your friends already 'friendship over' you because you don't go along with them anymore."

Lately, the woman feels that the things she and her friends are doing are no longer thrilling. She doesn't enjoy it anymore. Or maybe, she was just too sad to feel any thrill or enjoyment.

"One more thing, you're right. She's not a bad person. She was able to admit to Jackson oppa that she fooled him. I was just driven by anger. And then I thought that she was fooling you too. You know I'm very protective when it comes to our family," Somi said. "And I think I kinda like her. She's a fighter, like me."

"You know what you should do? Focusing on your own love life. Oh, I forgot you still don't have one, you know why? Because men are afraid of you." she just laughed of what she said.

"Be thankful, you're wearing a suit and you look respectable now, otherwise I'm going to hit you in the head!" Somi rolled her eyes at her.

Lisa was happy and Somi is treating her like she used to. She's no longer angry with her.

Jennie has entered Seoul Special City Orphanage. Her parents accepted the sin she had committed to them. And the rumor spread in their area, that she had separated from her 'wife'. She doesn't want to correct the rumor anymore. It's up to people what they want to think of her. As long as her family accepts her, that's all that matters.

She is also happy with her work in social service, her position is difficult but the feeling is fulfilling. But somehow, deep inside her, she feels an emptiness.

Was she still mourning for her lost baby? No, it's gonna be something else. She accepted that there is a reason why Angel did not become her. And she expected to feel sadness for the rest of her life.

She was just missing Lisa.

When she left the office that afternoon she did not expect the person to be seen in the lobby of the building.

It's Taehyung!

Anger immediately rose in her chest. She wanted to attack the man but she calmed herself.

He smiled as he greeted her. "Hello, Jennie! I heard from Nayeon that you already has a new lover?"

"Get away from me, you asshole!" she snorted softly but darkly and pushed past him.

He followed her. "You also followed my advice, eh?"

She stopped walking and angrily faced the man. It seems that he is so happy looking at her deflated stomach.

"You're so evil." her voice trembled as she scolded the man. "I don't know why I loved you before but remember this, I regretted every single day I was with you, Kim Tae-hyung!" she pointed at his face. "And just to let you know, I was miscarriage. I didn't abort my child because I'm not like you without conscience." That's all and she left the man dumbfounded.

But Taehyung is stubborn. She never thought that he followed her to her apartment on a Saturday night.

"Get out of here!" she pushed the man away as soon as she opened the door.

"Jennie, I just want us to talk. I miss you terribly."

"There is nothing to talk about, you bastard! And I don't fucking miss you a bit. In fact, I feel disgusted when I think of you!" she shouted at him. She knew what Taehyung wants, he only wants her body. He wanted to seduce her again so he could bed her again. But that won't happen ever again. She's not as stupid and innocent as she used to be.

"Get the hell out of my life!" she slammed the door on the man.
