Jones gets her wisdom teeth out

Pain

It was very very unusual for me to feel pain. Everyone knew that. Well some was shocked to hear that I couldn't feel pain at first.

I didn't feel pain really. And if I did it was a cause for concern and I should be taken to a hospital almost immediately.

Now here I am laying awake at 2:30am with my mouth in so much pain. It's not my mouth exactly it's my jaw. More so the left hand side.

I tried to fall asleep head resting on the side but I can't. I end up crying my eyes up. As I don't know where my parents more so my mum keeps the painkillers and I'm tried so I'm not exactly thinking straight either.

I keep bawling my eyes out and soon mum walks into my bedroom tired but picks me up as she thinks I've had a nightmare. Which I haven't but it's normally the reason I cry at night. But then she turns on the light and looks at me. I rest my head on her neck on the uninjured side.

Mum knows I go to their bedroom and wake them up if I've had a nightmare. So this is something else. "I'm in pain mummy" I say

Ah, there it is mum thinks and she holds me as she goes downstairs and turns the light on. "Where she asks?" As she looks for the painkillers still holding onto me tightly

"Right hand side jaw mum" I cried

Mum stops and thinks and says "toothache?"

"Worse" I mumble

Mum doesn't like the sound of that. No parent would. She placed me down so she could get me a glass of water to drink the painkiller down with.

I thanked her and swallowed it dry. Mum wasn't thinking straight due to being tired either. I could swallow tablets dry. A habit me and my dad shared and a habit that freaked others out if they didn't know me.

"Where's dad?" I ask a yawn coming out as mum checks her phone she left on the side charging, it has a text of Elvis

"Work" mum said as she held me before she said "though I've just had a text of Elvis"

"What it say?" I ask as she pockets the phone and the charger as well as some more painkillers if I was to need them later in the pocket of her dressing gown which is the same colour of Neptune May I add

"They can see the lights from the station, they've done a night drill, they want to know if we're okay and I suppose if I don't answer in a min we get the police knocking on the door shortly, though robbers didn't normally turn on the light to rob though.

We got the door open and then we locked it. Mum had put her shoes on while I had taken the tablet and didn't even bother with mine. We locked the door and saw Malcom parking his quad by the gate of our house

"Hello Malcom" mum said as she held me who was now once again fast asleep now that the pain meds had kicked in

"Station is worried about you two due to the lights" Malcom said "suppose you didn't reply back to them did you?"

"Sorry jones woke up in pain and then we used the lights to find the painkillers" Penny yawned

"I don't think you should be on shift tomorrow Penny" Malcom said "your shattered"

"I know, just came off a twelve hour shift as well" Penny yawned again "but jones has asked for her dad so here we are"

"Jones is a dads girl that's for sure" Malcom laughed as he walked with us to the fire station "that isn't hard to notice"

Dad was waiting by the door with Steele

"True" Penny supplied

Malcom saw Sam and Steele before mum did and then said "there both tired but there fine, has something to do with painkillers"

Penny thanked Malcom for explaining as she struggled to stop yawning

Malcom then left and my dad took me off my mum before they kissed and Steele said "so who needed pain meds then?"

"Jones did, hence why were awake" penny said as she leaned into Sam

"Jones never admits she's in pain" Sam mumbled

"Least your both safe though that's the main thing" Steele said as he took in the jones family and saw that two of them was very much so fast asleep and he would hazard a guess that penny was bout to fall asleep right where she stood "and penny, she's asleep isn't she?"

"Not asleep" penny rubbed her eyes as she headed inside to the sleeping quarters and laid on the bed and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow

"She needs to sleep and Jones does need someone to watch over her, Sam if you need to take a shift off" Steele said as he watched dad hood me still

"I don't need to sir as I think someone might've sorted that problem out for us" Sam said as they both saw me relax even further in my dads arms

They went into the station and dad went to the sleeping quarters and chuckled at his wife. He laid me down next to penny and took of his wife's shoes. "Your definitely not working tomorrow pen" Sam whispered as he tucked us both in but he didn't miss the way I curled into mum

"Your sweet Jones" dad said as he left us to sleep but as he left he saw a smile appear on his wife
