Alice's POV
After watching the news, it was clear to the entire world that Louis had been hurt and was currently in a coma. I wanted to go visit and give my support to Liam, Niall, and Zayn who are no doubt by his side. After all, there were my friends at one point too, and what kind of friend doesn't visit when you're in the hospital. I had already called ahead to a completely torn up Liam, who halfheartedly assured me that he'd have security let me though, so I started getting dressed to head over to the hospital. As I was throwing my hair up into a pony tail, my cell phone rang, the caller ID reading Peter.
"Hey Pete, what's going on?" I ask, in a fairly good mood considering the situation.
"Don't call me that," he jokingly threatened, making me laugh, before continuing, "I was wondering if you'd allow your best friend in the entire world to take you out to lunch."
"I thought you were spending the day with Braden," I said, knowing that was what he had told me this morning when I invited him over for pancakes.
"I was supposed to, but he rushed out saying something about a meeting," he answered me, his voice uncaring.
"Well I'd love to take you up on that offer, but I was actually about to head out," I said while applying some mascara and pinching the phone between my ear and shoulder.
"Going to visit Lou?" Peter asked, shocking me.
"How'd you know?" I asked, honestly wanting to know how he knew these things.
"I'm not an idiot, it's all over the news what happened to him. I figured if you're going anywhere without me, it's something for the boys." he replied very matter-of-factly.
"You're too good," I laughed back at him. He didn't say anything, and I knew what he wanted. I rolled my eyes with a smile, "Do you want to co-"
"Yes," he cut me off, clearly waiting for me to ask. I laughed at him again. "I'm actually already outside..."
"You're kidding me," I said, walking to the window and peering through the curtains. Sure enough, he was leaning against his car in the parking lot, waving at me. I waved back and hung up, knowing I'll be seeing him as soon as I make it down the stairs. I grabbed my purse and walked out, greeting him with a hug when I reached his car.
The ride to the hospital was filled with Peter howling, not really singing, along with every song on the radio, making up his own words when he didn't know the real lyrics. That's what I loved about him; he could really just have fun in any situation, regardless if it was embarrassing or uncomfortable. He always found a way to make it enjoyable. Only Peter could take the solemn note out of the air when visiting someone in the hospital, although he was starting to give me a headache.
As I tuned Peter out, I began thinking about his relationship with Braden. What had started out as clearly a fake relationship on his part has seemed to turn into something more. I never really did question him on his hidden motives in dating Braden, nor did Peter ever bring it up again. From my view of their relationship on the outside, it seems that Peter has gotten increasingly more genuine. He actually wants to spend time with Braden instead of just tolerating his presence, and I'm not really sure how to take this information. Oh well, as long as he's happy, I suppose. Braden is a nice guy, and he seems to get along well enough with the boys when they come to visit.
