Loud 80s songs, messy room and Sofia just dancing around. Yes, the 24 year old woman traumatizing the whole neighborhood. Thank God, they didn't call the cops on her. For many years, Sofia has been jobless_ but also careless. And of course, she lived with her parents and her little brother Jeff. Her entire life was a disaster. Her brother Jeff (20) being a drug addict,went to prison twice. Her mom who only cared about her dogs more than her actual family, and her dad being too suicidal. Of course, Sofia's life started to turn out bad, she actually recently graduated high school at age 24! Turns out she had no plan for future at all.
"Sarah! Turn that goddamn music off!" Her mom yelled from the kitchen. The family only lives in a two bedroom apartment. They already got evicted from two different apartments because of Sofia's music.
As Sofia got dressed up and switched of the music, her mom rushed into the room. "you got accepted!" She screamed. Sofia didn't know what her mom was excited about. Until she found out that she got accepted at that one college in France. Her mom was visibly more excited than Sofia.
Well , Sofia wasn't excited. Her entire life, she had to follow her mom's dreams. Her mom used to go to the exact same college. Which was an ONLY GIRL college. Her mom thought that if, Sofia would ever go to that college, she'd have better job opportunities and a better life.
"Honey, just understand it's for your own good"
"No! Mom it's for your sake, when can I finally live my life"
" If you go to that college, you will have a better life. "
" Didn't you go to that college? Look at what you turned out to be! You have a son with a criminal record. A suicidal husband...."
"But I have a beautiful daughter who...."
"Yes a daughter who now hates you."
With that attitude Sofia stormed out of the apartment. This didn't stop her from going to Paris.
Some weeks later she already had the flight ticket ready. She hated the college but loved Paris . She would rather go there, than to stay in that two bedroom apartment with her family.
Yes, Sofia wanted to change. She wanted to find a love life. She wanted to find a new job.
She wanted a new chapter in her life.
