The name's Mackenzie, Mackenzie Kennedy. I'm 15 years old and the year is 1962. I'll be 16 in October. I am from American, but I was adopted into England. Liverpool to be exact. Same with my best friend, Kaihlan. Our families are quite fancy and rich. She's their only child. I was the only one adopted. I have a brother and sister. They are twins and are 16 years old. They'll be 17 in August.
It's the summer. Kaihlan and I go to the Cavern Club every night. My brother, Spencer, and my sister, Brittany, always come along. Brittany is bratty, but Spencer is really sweet.
"Ready?"Kaihlan asked.
"Yep,"I answered, walking out of the bathroom.
I was wearing a black sundress, black sandals, contacts, some makeup, and my hair was straightened. We walked downstairs and left the house. This was the first time I ever looked like this. At the Cavern Club, we sat in the front. I crossed my legs and sighed. Kaihlan was smiling and looking at the stage.
"Eek!"I heard a girl screech.
I shook my head, sighing.
"Lighten up,"Kaihlan told me.
I was upset. My parents were leaving for America, but I have to stay. Spencer and Brittany get to go, but I can't.
"I'll try."
She nodded, then the band walked out. We faced the stage and they got ready. They started playing. After the song, they talked quietly with my each other. I decided to leave a bit early. I walked around and decided to get in a cab.
"Take me anywhere,"I sighed, handing the driver the .
He nodded and started driving. I sighed, closing my eyes. About an hour later, I had arrived in a small town. I walked around, slowly. I sighed, looking down. I was alone, about to break down. I walked into an alley, making sure it was clear, and sat down. I hugged my knees to my chest and sobbed. I guess someone heard me, because I heard a voice.
"Ey, you okay?"A blonde haired man asked.
I shook my head and covered my face.
"The name's Brian. You seem lonely, so yeah."
"I-I'm Mackenzie."
"Wanna go to my house for tea?"
I nodded and let him take my hand. We walked to his house and he helped me clean up. He handed me a cup of tea and sat across from me.
"What's got you down?"He asked.
"My family. They're going to America, where I was adopted from, and not taking me."
"That's horrible!"
I nodded and sighed, sipping my tea.
"So, what are you going to do?"He asked with a curious look on his face.
"I don't know..."I looked down.
"Umm. Let's change the subject!"He exclaimed.
"Okay."
"Ummm...what's your favorite color?"He asked.
"I have three. Black, lavender, and sea foam green."
"Black is my favorite too."
I gave him a small smile.
"There's a smile!"He winked.
I giggled and sipped my tea.
"So..."He said, with a hand on the back of his neck.
I looked down, sighing.
"Is something wrong, love?"He asked, lifting an eyebrow.
"No,"I shook my head.
"Just making sure."
I nodded and sipped my tea again.
"Were you crying when I found you?"He asked, quietly.
"Yeah..."
"Ugh,"He groaned and stood up.
I looked at him. He sat next to me and wrapped his arms around me. I closed my eyes, letting a few tears fall. He hushed me, making me fall asleep. I woke up alone in a bed. I sat up, rubbing my eyes. I laid back down, sighing. I looked up at the ceiling. There was a knock on the door and he walked in.
"G'morning,"He smiled brightly.
"Morning,"I sat up.
We went to eat breakfast and he drove me home.
