Inwood was a rather strange town, but there was always something strange going on. Some speculated it was a cult. Other believed it was wizards, and there are those who claim that vampires and werewolves live among us. Some claim to have seen werewolves on full moons, but it's just speculation. I, myself, don't know what to believe. I do believe in the supernatural, but there was little to no evidence that they truly lived amongs us especially in our town. Inwood was always like this. It became a famous town in the 1530s for witches, vampires and werewolf sightings.

My whole worldturned upside down after that night. The night I'd like to forget forever. It had all started a few months ago...

It was rainy since it was mid-autumn. I ran into the Needle and Thread Cafe. I worked nightshift here, but I had today off. Hoping I wasn't late I was supposed to be meeting up with Alex and Melody. Two of my best friends that I grew up with. Apparently there was something important they wanted to speak to me about. When I walked in I was soaked from head to toe. Melody spotted me from our usual back corner booth.

"Victoria! Oh my god!" She freaked as she saw me.

It was normal. I could come dressed in sweats and she would still flip.

"Calm down Mel..I'm alright just a little cold is all" I shivered as I walked over to her. "W-where's Alex?"

She looked over her shoulder and pointed to him. "He's...Well he should tell you"

We walked over to where he was sitting and took a seat. He looked up at me and handed me a blanket.

"Knew you'd need this" He looked worried. "You always forget a rain coat"

"Thanks" I couldn't help but wonder what was wrong. I wrapped myself up in the blanket. It was warm. "So...what's going on?"

There's been a body found on the forest...completely torn to shreds.." He looked over at Melody then back to me. "They think it's an animal attack..I just wanted to tell you that I'm-"

"Worried about you! Isn't that right Alex?" Melody interrupted him as if she knew what he was gonna say.

"Yeah..I know you like go for walks in the forest. Just please be safe when you go..." He looked over at Melody then back to me.

"I always am Alex..." I smiled.

I wondered as to why Melody interrupt him. Was there something that she knew? Were they hiding a secret from me? When one of the employees came over they asked us if we were ready to order. We all got our usual drinks. I got a hot chocolote with extra milk chocolate. I liked it sweet. When our drinks came I felt slightly warmer. My clothes didn't feel as wet anymore. They started to dry little by little. I sipped my hot chocolate slowly. We laughed and chatted about many different things. When the rain had passed, the sun had shown it's face once again and brightly too. We all paid and left. I needed to go home, but Melody was insisting that we go to The Grim Dress Shop. Walking outside you could smell the wet earth. It was a pleasant smell like an old book. There were many puddles for kids to jump in and seeing some of them jump from puddle to puddle was nice.

Many people looked happy that the rain had passed. Walked down the street Melody kept insisting we go to The Grim Dress Shop since apparently they got some new dresses in. The dress shop is run by a lady in her mid-thirties and she was gorgeous. She was always so kind, sweet but yet pale as snow. Apparently she was never allowed to go outside as a child so people called her a vampire. When we went inside she was displaying some rather beautiful Victorian gowns. One was a beautiful blood red with black roses, lace and it just had a beautiful design over all. I thought of who would wear a dress like that. I pictured a lovely vampire queen at a ball. There were two others. One was a lovely dark emerald green and the other was a dashing dark ocean blue. They were so beautiful.
