Chapter 17 - The Library (closed)

It appears the revival book has gone missing.

++++

Tide had finally coaxed Happy to get out of the library for once and get a snack. Happy had made sure to be quick, grabbing a granola bar and then heading back up towards the library once again.

Except when he stepped inside, Tide was laying on the ground, unconscious and bleeding from the head.

Happy stared at him in shock before running over, feeling tears prick his eyes. "Tide! Bub, wake up! This isn't funny!"

Tide didn't stir and Happy started to cry, shaking Tide in a violent attempt to wake him up. He even slapped him once, letting out a cry of rage when he didn't awake.

[ERROR] woke up and yawned, then got to their feet and, without any warning, was teleported away.

++++

Happy sobbed softly as he lay beside Tide, trying to comprehend what had happened, when [ERROR] appeared behind him. For a few moments, they were confused, and then they saw Tide and paused.

Happy twisted to see [ERROR] and looked away, curling his claws into fists.

"You were supposed to protect him." Happy whispered. "You didn't protect him."

"I'm sorry!" [ERROR] said, eyes wide. Happy narrowed his eyes and gritted his teeth, twisting around and flaring out his wings.

"You told me that you'd protect him!" He cried. "I trusted you!"

"I know, and I'm sorry, I-"

"I thought that if you protected him, I wouldn't have to let anybody down." Happy sobbed, "But you didn't! You didn't protect him, did you? Is it that you don't care?!"

"I do! I do care, I...Happy, I'm sorry!" [ERROR]'s eyes widened and Happy snarled, his talons working at something.

[ERROR] seemed to recognize what it was. "Happy-"

A ripping sound filled the air and then [ERROR] disappeared.

The air of danger around the library has (for the most part) dissipated and Happy is nowhere to be found. [ERROR] is gone and Tide ended up dying from the wound. Conifer still cannot find the revival book.
