The luxurious Jang family estate was brightly lit. It was the birthday banquet of 70 year-old Mrs. Jang, the head of the Jang family. Many children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and further relatives were there to give gifts and earn favours from Mrs. Jang. 

''Aunt, I know you love tea, this century old Chinese tea brick is for you and it is worth half a million yuan!'' 

''Grandma, as you believe in Buddha, I have bought this jade Buddha necklace for you! It is carved from white jade and it is worth over 700 thousand yuan!''

Old Mrs. Jang was looking at the various gifts and smiling. This made the family overjoyed as none of them wanted to be on her bad side. Mrs. Jang had the power to ruin any one of them, just like she had the power to make their standing in the family a lot higher, she was the head of the family after all.

Then suddenly Yujin, Mrs. Jang's granddaughter-in-law spoke: ''Grandma, can you lend me a million yuan? Aunt Li from the orphanage was diagnosed with uremia and she needs medical treatment.''

The entire Jang family was shocked. Bewildered gazes were thrown Yujin's way. This live-in daughter-in-law was too courageous, right? Not only did she not prepare a gift for Lady Jang's birthday but she also had the audacity to ask to borrow money from her? This was shamelessness at the next level!

Three years ago; the then surviving head of the Jang Family, Old Master  Jang, found Yujin from God knows where and insisted on marrying her to his eldest granddaughter, Jang Wonyoung. At that time, Yujin was penniless, quite like how she was at present time.  After the two got married but before they could hold a proper wedding, the Old Master Jang passed away.

Since then, the Jang family has been deliberately trying to drive Yujin away, whether by insulting her, ridiculing her or other methods. Yujin however would just act indifferent to everything said about her so she stayed as the live-in daughter-in-law of the Jang Family. 

She had no chance but to ask Mrs. Jang for money that day because Aunt Li from the orphanage where she lived in years and who took care of her had been diagnosed with uremia. She thought that  Lady Jang may be more giving and kinder that day as it was her birthday but everyone else knew it was helpless. 

Unexpectedly, the old Mrs. Jang laughed for a second or two before scowling. She threw the teacup on her hand to the floor, shattering it.

''Bastard thing! Are you here to celebrate my birthday or to borrow money?!''

Yujin's wife Wonyoung instantly hurried forward and bowed. ''Grandma, Yujin is ignorant. Please forgive her for this time'' With that said, she pulled her wife aside.

Then, Wonyoung's cousin, Jeonghee, sneered and exclaimed: ''Cousin, look at the rubbish your wife and your marriage is! Seungkwan and I are just engaged, not even married, and he still bought grandma a jade Buddha meanwhile your wife has the face to ask for money without even bringing a gift!''

''That's right, Sister Yujin! You and I are both grandchildren-in-law of the Jang family and you are a complete waste and utter rubbish compared to me!''

The man who spoke was Jeonghee's fiancee, Boo Seungkwan. The young master of a large local family based in Wrestvel. Although he was about to marry Jeonghee, he couldn't help but think that Jeonghee's appearance was ten thousand miles away from Yujin's wife, Wonyoung, so he couldn't help but feel a tinge of jealousy towards Yujin. Wonyoung was well-known as the Goddess of Beauty in Wrestvel so he was also upset seeing her marry a waste like Yujin.

''It's best to get this kind of garbage out from the Jang family as soon as possible!''
