Steve woke up, he looked at himself in the mirror, feeling dysphoric. He sighed, despite how he was feeling, he got himself ready like usual. He seen his dad passed out on the sofa, he decided to put a blanket on him and head to school. Hoping, praying today would just be calm.
Once he arrived, he headed to his locker, like usual. First lesson he had was maths, where he sat next to Billy. Hooray.
He grabbed his books and head to maths, he sat down once he had arrived.
"Hey Harrington"
great.
"What do you want, Hargrove?"
"I seen you yesterday."
Steve looked at Billy.
"What?"
"I seen you with the freaks yesterday."
"I was picking up Robin, we're partners for an art project."
Billy gets unbelievably close to Steve.
"Bullshit. You're hiding something Harrington and this proves it."
"Fuck off Hargrove. I have nothing to hide."
"Sure you don't, watch your back."
Billy grinned and Steve rolled his eyes, heart beating slightly fast in his chest.
Steve ignored Billy for the rest of the lesson and left as soon as the bell went. He tried to enjoy the rest of his day but Billy was always there, making comments or shoulder barging him.
Steve headed to the lunch hall and sat down, he walked past Eddie's table and he winked at him. Steve sat down, cheeks gone a slightly darker colour.
"What you blushing for, Steve?"
Tommy asked, arm around Carol.
"Just- walked past Nance-"
He had to make up a quick lie. It seemed to work cause they teased him for a bit then they moved subjects. God, this attraction to the freak needed to go away before it got him into some serious trouble. Steve was slightly zoned out, until Billy started to speak to him.
"You coming, Harrington?"
"Coming where?"
"To the party we were just talking about."
"Where's it at??"
"My place, 10:00pm."
Steve shrugged.
"Maybe..."
"Come on Steve!! It'll be fun, plus, I heard Nancy might go"
That didn't mean much to Steve but at least someone he actually liked would be there.
"Fine, sure, i'll be there."
"Perfect."
The rest of the day went pretty smooth, Steve kept finding himself thinking about Eddie. He tried to ignore his thoughts but it didn't work, so he started to embrace them. Not like he'd ever act on them, of course. What would his dad do if he found out Steve had feelings other than platonic feelings for a man?! He'd be doomed.
Once he got home, he started to pick out his outfit for the party. Nothing special, just some light blue shirt and some jeans. He sorted his hair, ate some food and headed to Billy's at 11:00, not wanting to be the first there. He'll just label it as fashionably late. He arrived and it was already packed with drunk teenagers. He headed inside, hearing someone yell his name.
"Steve!"
Steve looked to the side and seen Nancy, probably the only sober one here.
"Oh, hey Nance, thought Tommy was lying when he said you were coming"
she shrugged.
"I was invited, people must still like me after I dumped you"
she smirked and sipped her drink. Steve smiled and rolled his eyes.
"Yeah yeah, whatever"
"Come on, come get a drink"
Nancy took Steve to where the drinks are and they both talked for a while, well, they tried to but it was very loud.
Nancy ended up leaving a while later and Steve almost did to until an extremely drunk Tommy threw himself at Steve.
"Stevvieee"
"Jesus Tommy- how drunk are you-??"
"I dunno- was talking to Billy, lost track of timmeee"
Steve sighs.
"Come let, let's get you home."
Steve helped Tommy walk out.
"HEY HARRINGTON"
Steve looked back and seen Billy leaning on the doorframe. He had a shit eating grin on his face that made Steves stomach drop a bit.
"Cya tomorrow."
Billy winked and went back inside. Steve's heart was beating fast as he drove Tommy home, did Tommy say something? He wouldn't of- even if he is drunk, he wouldn't of said anything, right? Steve got Tommy home and put him into bed, he went to leave until Tommy dragged him into bed with him and clung on.
"Love you steve"
Steve sighed, he had nowhere to be anything.
"Love you too Tommy, goodnight."
