c.22- Your apology won't heal her

"Can't I kiss my wife even?"

His voice echoed. Due to the fact that the room was soundproof, he raised his tone loud enough for his woman to hear without disturbing anyone.

"But we are not-" Vera attempted to indicate the truth about fake marriage.

"Shush" Yet, Ezra placed his finger upon the soft lips of the woman to quiet her down. "Take a rest. You must be tired" 

He instructed. The slight frown displayed across his face, had never bothered Vera that much before.

Why?

Her husband appeared to be miserable over a matter. The sorrow embraced his eyes, she could sense it so well.

Did something occur to him? Was he upset about the occasion of bomb?

The woman did not notice herself who was injured. She cleared her name out of the list that could make him dejected.

Refusing to fall asleep, Vera cupped the face of the man. Stunning Ezra entirely.

"Look in my eyes" The woman forced the man to peer through her gaze.

Now, Ezra was drawn into her eyes.

"Although I am not your real wife, I can still listen to your issues. You know, I am quite good at being silent sometimes"

Vera boasted. A smile tugged at her lips, somehow causing the man to sigh.

He took his wife's hands away from his cheek. "Rest" he repeated. Patting the head of the woman to keep her tired.

"Fine" She rolled her eyes. Without any other choices, Vera chose to fall asleep.

It was not ber fault anyway. He was the one denying to disclose the sorrow.

Next morning, the woman woke up to the nightmare from past. "Ugh!" Due to surprise, Vera sat up on the bed. Only to realize the nightmare after a second.

"Shit. That almost killed me" She sighed. Then the silence in the room hit her.

Pretty tranquil although the time was eleven in the morning. In hurry, the woman glanced around the room.

Only to discover her husband had disappeared. Again, he wasn't there.

Countless mornings she had to get up alone in the bed was unbearable.

Wasn't he the one who wished to convince everyone they were married? Why hadn't he sleep with her for once?

Vera knew Ezra left the room once she fell asleep. She was aware he had never taken advantage of her since day one.

"He must be out for work" the woman shrugged the matter off.

Instead of considering from negative side, she brushed it off. She began her day quickly to fill the empty stomach.

However, as she headed down to the dining room, her steps were ceased over the sight of three people in living room.

The couple who peered up at her, amazed Vera somehow.

Then her eyes shifted towards the back of the man, who was facing the two.

"Aunt"

The word escaped between the lips of the man once the woman arrived.

"Zane Kingston?" Vera's brows pulled together in an instant to express perplexity. But she had expected him to show up. Her plans were working out.

Things were occurring on her way as she anticipated them to be.
