"You still think I'm old, you little punk?!!" Kaori roars as she launches into the air and brings up her left leg. Zenitsu's eyes are so wide you could see veins protruding from around them.
".....!" The blonde boy couldn't form a single word before Kaori throws her leg down upon him and her sandalled foot connects to the right side of his face, smashing the Thunder Breather back into the earth with a cry of agony.
"Shouldn't you stop her, Mika?" Shinobu asks as Kaori pulls back her right clenched fist to prepare for a punch.
"Once Kaori Sensei gets started like this, there's usually no stopping her," I say worriedly. We wince as Kaori slams her fist towards Zenitsu, only for the boy to jerk his head to the side, narrowly avoiding getting his face smashed in. I cup my hands around my mouth. "Quick, Zenitsu! You've gotta apologise!"
"Why?!" He squeaks before narrowly avoiding another punch.
"If you apologise and say you didn't mean it, then she'll stop," I explain as I lower my hands.
Zenitsu evades another punch before stammering, as Kaori pulls back her fist, "O-Okay, okay! I-I'm sorry! I d-didn't mean to call you old! I-I th-think you look youthful!"
Zenitsu squeezes his eyes shut as he lets out a squeal of fright and braces himself for the impact.
However, Kaori's fist stops mere inches from connecting to his face as a thoughtful expression crosses hers, despite the anger still lingering in her gaze. "You say I'm... youthful...?"
"... Uh huh! Uh huh!" The blonde stammers, nodding his head vigorously, his eyes wide like before.
Kaori smiles at this as she climbs off of him and hauls them Agatsuma to his feet, though the poor boy looks like he's about to faint, his features pale.
Kaori says as she smiles and brushes the dirt off of Zenitsu, "Huh. I don't think anyone's used that one before, but you're right that I'm rather youthful. You know what? I think I like you, kid. You're name's Zenitsu?" He nods his head numbly. Kaori Sensei beams at him, patting both of his shoulders. "Then welcome to my estate, Zenitsu!"
I sag my shoulders as a mushroom shaped sigh of immense relief escapes my lips. "That was absolutely terrifying," I mutter as Kaori wanders back inside the house.
"You're telling me," Groans the Agatsuma, wobbling over to us. "I thought I was gonna die!"
"But you didn't!" Chimes the Insect Hashira with a closed eye smile as we go back inside.
