The bright light shone through my white blinds in the family's new house in San Fransisco. My eyes peered open, turning my head to the opposite way, when my eyes took contact with the sunlight. I yawned and slowly got out of my bed, taking my big, square, black glasses and putting them on.
I grabbed a soft, baby blue towel and yawned, walking out my room and into the bathroom. Smelling the fresh paint made me smile. I turned on the shower knob towards the middle of the hot and cold signs. It turned out cold, my bushy eyebrows furrowed. I directly barged out the door and yelled my brother's name.
"Clark, can you be quick with your stupid beauty shower? I need some warm water too, y'know?!" I yelled through the house.
We have two bathrooms, one is supposedly for Clark- my brother- and for dad. My bathroom, I'm sharing it with mom. When one bathroom shower knob turned to either hot or cold, the other bathroom's water will turn the opposite.
"Wait!" Clark yelled, "I'm almost done!"
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. After ten minutes he yelled back he was done. I stormed inside my bathroom and turned the shower knob to warm and started what I needed to do.
After a few minutes, I got out the shower and I quickly walked in my bedroom and locked the door.
I took out an extra-large, patterned jumper, baggy jeans, and combat boots. I threw them all on and tied my hair into a messy bun.
Our house is fairly near to the bus stop, so the bus would just come by and honk the horn.
I ran down the stairs, greeting me mom with a hug from behind. She turned around and looked at me. She handed me a plate of grilled cheese and fries on the side. She looks at me, seriously, but calmly and sincerely.
"Honey, are you sure you still want to dress like that in school? You dress the opposite when you go out to the mall, though." She said, rubbing my back in a circular motion.
I smiled, I gave her a quick peck on her cheek and said, "I'm sure, ma'." The bus horn rang through my ears and into the house. "Love ya'"
Clark came, taking the other half of the grilled cheese and a handful of the chips and dashed to the bus. I did the same and waved a goodbye to mom.
My dad needs to get some good sleep since he works everyday at night. He works at seven at night to two in the morning. He works for the police, he works a night shift on Haight Street, looking out for people speeding. My dad loves coffee, he's always buzzed from his coffee.
The bus stopping, causing us, the students, to unintentionally lean forward. We all hopped off the bus, individually. I quickly walked to my locker and took my History and Chemistry textbooks before the Plastics or the Jocks arrive with a mouthful of horrible insults for me.
I'm not the kind of girl who cries easily in school, at least not in public. I cry when I'm at home or in the ladies' room's stall. On lunch, if you see the stall nearest to the opposite of the door occupied, that's most likely me. I sometimes eat with my friends, but sometimes they might have cheerleading practice, or they're not done with a project, or they're doing whatever. I can't risk staying in the cafeteria, eating alone on an empty table. That is too risky.
I was about to close my locker door as someone greets me with a 'Hi'. I almost jumped, ready to run to the classroom, but I turned to my left and saw Eleanor and Zoe smiling. I said 'Hi' as well as we walked to class. Chemistry and English are the only classes we three attend to together.
It was getting silent and awkward, so I decided to start. "So, how are you guys?" I ask, looking up at Zoe and Elle. They were wearing high heels while I wore combat boots. They were at least four or five inches taller than me now, or even more.
