I have once again, woken up by the bright light shining into my eyes, I quickly whipped my head to the others side of the bed, avoiding eye contact with the sun.
I jumped off the bed and hopped into the bathroom. I heard my bedroom door squeak open. I listened closely.
"Nora? You here?" Preston's voice half-yelled.
"Yeah!" I yelled back, through the door.
"Hey, can you do me a favor?"
"What?"
"Dress up like what you've dressed up in yesterday!"
"No!"
"Please?" He pleaded, I had to keep doing my usual routine.
I didn't answer him, instead, I finished my shower and decided to just put on make up. I came out with the towel wrapped around me, seeing Preston right there made me blush like mad. He smirked. And I glared at him. He lift his hands up and left the room.
I changed into some black, long-sleeved top, and denim skinny jeans, and plus, I put on some red vans. I was proud of how I looked, having a brown smokey eye and a matte plum/purple lipstick.
I slid down the railings and met with the eyes of Preston Kyter. I have forgotten that he was still here. I froze, staying there for a moment until whipping my head to a different direction.
"So you've decided to do my favor." He smirked, chuckling. i rolled my eyes in frustration, I walk back upstairs to change. "Hey! The bus is getting here!"
I grunt loudly and go beside him, sitting on a bench where I usually sit to wait for the bus. "So.." He said, breaking the silence.
I looked around, avoiding eye contact with his perfect, blue eyes. "Wanna hang at lunch?" He asked, my eyes opened as wide as it could in shock.
"Wait, what?" I ask, turning to him.
"Like, wanna eat with me at lunch?" He asked, patting my shoulder. I shook my head, no. Clark ran outside and sat on the stairs in front of our door.
"I-I can't. I'm just the normal, ugly, fat geek who stays in the bathroom stall during break times! I'm not gonna suddenly eat with the hottest and the most popular guy in school, no!" I said, frustrated. I couldn't just be a geek in one day and a girl who suddenly eats with Preston Kyter!
"No, it's not a question. Eat with me at lunch. Meet me in the field." He stated, looking at me dead in the eyes. I can't say no to him, he's- he's Preston Kyter! I looked down and nodded.
The bus drove up in front of us, Preston, Clark, and I came inside. I sat in the middle part of the bus, alone, as Preston sits at the back with his group of friends and as Clark just sits nearly to the back.
The back of the bus, it represents the popular and hot people. The front are the nerds and geeks who feel like they're always on time and on point. And the middle are just the normal ones who think they're average and not enough to be on the cool side- the back.
My phone buzzed inside my pocket as I can hear the students at the back of the bus talk about me wearing make-up and wearing actual, presentable clothing. I pulled my phone out of my tight jean pocket. I turned it on seeing:
Preston Kyter: Hey, sorry if you can hear my friends (girls) rant about you actually wearing something good. Sorry, but can't defend you at the moment. Just can't say the truth, that you actually look hot. If I say that, they'll tease me.
I roll my eyes and softly giggle at his statement, "that you actually look hot". I was happy he thought I looked acceptable. I smiled and type away. Did the Preston Kyter just called me hot?
Nora Brook: It's fine, Kyter.
I smiled and squeezed my phone into my jeans' pocket. My phone had buzzed again, and I have to pull my phone out of my tight pocket, again.
Preston Kyter: Remember, lunch on the field ;)
I rolled my eyes, giggling at his message. The bus suddenly stopped, causing the students- including me- harshly lean forward. I hear the doors of the bus open, everyone rushing out, but the line of the students wanting to leave was dreadful, it was slow and it wasn't moving.
I sat still on my seat, waiting for the whole line of students to leave the bus. I waited and waited until I was the last one. I stood and felt a finger poke my shoulder. I looked behind me, seeing Preston Kyter.
"Hey!" He greeted. He placed his hand on my lower back, gently leading me outside the bus. The moment we got out, he immediately pulled his arm to his side.
I looked down on my feet, hiding my blush on my cheeks. He nudged me and chuckles. I giggled the slightest and entered school. We made our distance, or, I did. I didn't want him to be seen hanging out with the 'Nerdy & Not', aka, me.
My sight of Preston disappeared from the crowd of students in the hallway.
I walked as quick as I can to my locker. Arriving to my locker, taking my PE uniform. I dislike many classes, especially PE.
I walk over to the girls' toilets until I felt a hand grab my arm, tugging it. I look behind me and met with the eyes of Preston Kyter.
He shook his head and finally spoke, "Come with me." He pulled on my arm leading me to the field that's always empty. He sat down as I sat down in front of him, making distance between us.
"Hey, remember when you said that you stay in the toilets on your free time?" He asked, chuckling.
I looked down in disappointed as I sigh. I have forgotten I blurted that private sentence out my mouth.
He laughed as I giggle a little, covering my mouth with my long-sleeved sweater. He pulled me closer since I was like three feet away from him. I scoot closer, causing our faces being at least one foot away.
"Hey, Preston?" I ask, he turned his head facing me, lifting one eyebrow. "Um, don't mean to be rude, but why're you with me if you have, like, twenty more friends?"
He, once again, chuckles. "I get to hang out with whoever I want to hang out, right?" He says, I nodded. "Then I pick to hang out with the Nora Danielle Brook!"
I laughed and gave him a playful punch on the arm. When I realized I was being myself and relaxed, I looked down on the grass in embarrassment.
"Hey," He pat my knee. "It's fine. Don't be so up-tight about being yourself, Doll."
"Doll?" I ask.
"Yeah, I made a promise to my parents. To call a pretty girl that I've gone attached to 'Doll'." He said, smirking.
I felt my cheeks heat up. I shook my head. "No, no, no. You've kinda mistake."
"Wait, we're not attached?" He asks, eyes opened wide in shock.
I giggled, "No, I'm not pretty. But, it's up to you if we're attached." I said, finger-combing a large strand of hair.
"Whatever you say, Doll." He winked.
The bell suddenly rang as Preston and I quickly walked to class. PE. Aw, this is going to be great.
