"Okay, what about this color?" I asked, turning to face my sister.

She shook her head. "Green? Seriously, (Y/N)? Wear something black. Or red!"

"The goal is to look presentable, Kaia."

Kaia shrugged her shoulders. "Fine. Don't take my advice. I don't care."

"I know you do."

I ended up taking my sister's suggestion and selecting a black outfit to wear-with accents of gray and white. I don't want to look too plain.

I was beginning to get nervous. Entering a singing competition wasn't something I ever expected to do. I don't have much confidence in myself. If you were to ask me, my voice would be pretty average. Nothing revolutionary, honestly. There wouldn't be any harm in this contest, though. If I were to win, I would be able to go to Harmoni Training Camp. The camp is known for training the VOCALOIDs. Which also means I would be there for an entire year with the VOCALOIDs! It's a dream come true. I'm just in it to meet my idols, and maybe even befriend them.

After putting on my earrings, I faced my sister. "How do I look?"

"Awe, look at my little (Y/N)! So sweet~!"

I rolled my eyes jokingly and headed downstairs; Kaia following close behind. We made our way to her car. It wasn't too long of a drive to the concert hall, only thirty minutes or so. Of course, Kaia had me practice almost the whole time. Luckily I was able to stop once my throat started hurting... I chugged a bottle of water before we went inside the building. We signed in, and I said goodbye to Kaia before heading backstage.

"So many people..." I whispered to myself.

Everyone seemed to be chatting with each other, whereas I stayed alone.

'Hopefully, it won't be this way if I win this contest...' I thought.

No one told me that this concert was going to be more like a talent show than an actual concert! I don't wanna feel like I'm on "The Voice" or something like that! I don't want feedback! All I wanted was to sing and wait in the crowd until the announcer inevitably revealed I wouldn't be the one going to the training camp. But no. I had to be judged by Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Len, and Kaito!

I cleared my throat before grabbing the mic.

"Hello, what's your name?" Kaito asked.

"I-I'm... I'm (Y/N)..." I said shyly.

"(Y/N)... Hm, pretty cute!" Len said with a small wink.

Miku rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. What are you gonna sing, hm?"

"Oh, um, I'm gonna sing 'Close To You.'"

"Go ahead," Kaito said.

After my performance, most people were silent.

'Shit...'

"You've got some nice vocals, (Y/N)," Kaito said with a smile.

I let out a sigh of relief.

"Ohthankgod-"

"I guess... So far, you are probably going to be the one going to the training camp." Stated Miku.

"Agreed! Besides, I think you're the last act or something." Len nodded.

My heart was going a million miles an hour.

'Me... At Harmoni Training Camp...? Oh my god... OH MY GOD...!!!'

"Everyone! Introducing the newest VOCALOID Trainee!! (Y/N)!" Len shouted, clapping.

Most people in the crowd seemed excited. Except for those who lost, of course (that's to be expected).

I left the stage and ran over to Kaia. "I did it!!!"

"YOU DID IT!!!" She screamed.

The two of us celebrated by jumping up and down like children who were just given a king-size candy bar on Halloween.

"Ahem." A deep voice called.

I spun around and looked at the six-foot-tall bodyguard. A small wave of worry rushed over me.

"Follow me. You have papers to sign."

I waved goodbye to Kaia and followed the man to a room backstage. Inside was a large desk, and someone in a chair, sitting in front of the window.

"Welcome, (Y/N)." They said.

"How did you know it was me?"

"I can literally see your reflection in this window."

I shrugged. "Fair enough."

The person turned around. They had short lavender - almost white - hair with a dark purple streak in the front and underneath. They wore a cropped hoodie with fishnet sleeves, a skirt on which the right side was a pair of shorts, a chunky belt with chains, fishnet tights, platform boots, and a spiked choker. They looked amazing, honestly. It reminded me of a mix between k-pop and goth fashion.

"So, you have a few papers to sign before you can leave for camp tomorrow."

"I'm sorry- Tomorrow?" I repeated.

The person nodded, motioning for me to sit in front of them. I complied.

"I wasn't expecting to leave so early..."

"If you would've read the paper all the way through, you would have noticed where it mentioned the date we will be leaving."

I gulped. "Right..."

I grabbed a nearby pen and began signing all the papers.

"I like your name."

"Oh, thanks. It's nothing special, really..." I said nervously.

"I'm VFlower, by the way. But you can just call me Flower."

"Flower... So, are you a boy or a girl?" I asked. "Or something else?"

Flower sighed. "I get that question all the time. I'm a girl."

I nodded slowly. "Okay."

"Anyway. We leave tomorrow morning, as I said. Six A.M. sharp. Got it?"

"Got it. I'll see you then."

I left the room and made my way back into the lobby to find my sister. Luckily, she was right where she was before. We drove back home where I spent most of my time packing up and getting ready for tomorrow morning.

"Hey, (Y/N). I made dinner!" Kaia said, bringing me a plate of food.

"What is it?"

"My world famous mac and cheese." She said with pride.

"You mean the stuff you get in a box from the supermarket?" I said with a laugh.

Kaia gasped, obviously offended.

I took the plate and ate dinner before going to sleep.

Tomorrow was going to be a very long day...
