After maybe spending about an hour in there, the two decided that it was safe to get out. They went to the first floor to call the police or maybe even find the 3. Ross got out his phone and tried to dial 911, but it didn't even ring since there was no reception.
"No reception. Shit..." Ross huffed as he put his phone back into his pocket.
"Wait, before we do anything else I have an idea. Let's split up. I look for a way out in the garden, and you try to call the police with any phone you find in the house." Joe suggested.
"Split up? Have you ever seen ANY HORROR MOVIE? SPLITTING UP IS A BAD IDEA." Ross exclaimed.
"I know but if anything bad happens, yell for me outside. If you can. I'll do too."
"Fine. But please be safe."
"I will," Joe said as he went outside, opening the doors and walking to the garden.
Ross then made his way up from the first floor to the second floor. He looked in every bedroom and office, searching for a telephone that he could possibly use. No luck. He went to the third floor. There weren't many rooms that Ross was able to unlock so he tried his best to look. He still couldn't find any phones. After giving up, he ran down to the first floor and looked outside at the two glass doors that led to outside.
Joe stood there behind the grass arch and in the garden, looking for Ross's face in the glass doors. Ross saw Joe and tried to wave to him but he still didn't see him. His arm now was technically waving around as if he were shaking it. But then...Ross saw a figure behind Joe. He shouted and banged on the window to let him know that someone was behind him but Joe STILL couldn't see him. Joe finally then saw Ross, but it was too late.
The man snuck up behind Joe and injected him with something just as he did with Zubin. Ross gasped and put a hand over his mouth in absolute horror, he just saw his best friend get kidnapped and couldn't do anything about it. He fell to the ground and sat there in shock while tears flowed down his cheeks.
He took a good few minutes to cry but soon after he wiped away his tears and sniffled. "I...I can't just sit here and cry." Ross muttered to himself. "I've got to find them! I've got to find Joe. He can help me get out of here."
Ross got up from the floor and ran outside into the garden. He shouted for the man, calling him names as such as he tried to look for Joe and the way out he possibly found.
"COME OUT AND FACE ME! I WANT MY FRIENDS BACK! I want...JOE BACK!" Ross shouted as he turned all around to look for the man.
Even though he was just there a minute ago, the man, or should I say Steve wasn't there. Ross huffed as he ran back into the house looking for any secret places there might have been. He kicked down every door that wouldn't open and looked for any secret bookcases that might have been doors. He even looked for little oddities in the floor. Of course, he couldn't find anything.
To Ross, it was better to be safe than sorry so after failing to find them he ran to the kitchen to get himself a knife for protection. As he walked to the kitchen he heard what seemed like to be...Banana Man? The music was playing from what seemed like a room nearby. Ross thought of any room he missed that he didn't go into yet, and he remembered the door by the glass doors.
He ran out of the kitchen, knife still in hand as he slowly walked towards the door. Ross put his ear up on the door and it was indeed Banana Man. He turned the door handle slowly which was now unlocked, and jumped inside the room with the knife in his hand prepared to stab anyone. Or anything.
When Ross entered the room no one was there. It was an office. The desk had monitors on them but Ross didn't get to see what was on them. With confusion, he stopped the vinyl that was playing on the record player which had its own area separate from the desk. There was also a telephone on the desk and it started to ring.
The telephone ringing startled Ross, but he went and got it anyways. "Hello?" he firmly said in a monotone voice.
A deep laugh was on the other end. "Hello, Ross." Steve said.
Ross gasped. "STEVE?! It's...It's been you the whole fucking time?! I SWEAR T-"
"Yes. It is me. Surprised how you wouldn't figure."
Ross rolled his eyes with a sigh as he got cut off by Steve. "Let them go."
"Hmmm, well I can't do that but I can show you something. Look at what's on the monitors."
With the telephone in one hand and the knife in another, Ross had a horrified look on his face as he looked at the monitors. There was live camera footage of the tallies, all held captive in a small room. 3 of them were up and standing around looking for ways to get out while 1 laid on the floor. It was Joe.
"Oh my god, I think I'm gonna be sick..."
"You can win them back but only if you win in a swordfight with me outside. In the garden. If you win, you get them back. If I win, I get to fill the room that they're in with poisonous gas that will kill them in little as 2 minutes."
"You-...fine Gallagher, let's fucking fight."
"See you there. If you can make it," Steve said with an evil laugh as he hung up the phone.
Ross ground his teeth in anger. Steve couldn't just do this, and for what reason? He guessed that Steve forgot to tell him why. But Ross could speculate why. The Halloween party at Bora's last year. It was such a little thing to get mad about, and an even littler thing to kidnap people for.
He was mad but had to get them back. Ross broke the monitors by throwing the telephone at them and walked out of the room shortly after with an angry expression on his face. Steve wanted a swordfight, but he didn't even provide Ross with swords. He wondered where he could get them. But then Ross remembered in the second-floor hallway there was a display of a sword.
Ross ran up the stairs and looked around in the hallway for the display. His eyes immediately caught it, it was in a shiny glass display that was at the end of the hallway. He walked towards it and broke it with his phone. Somehow the glass managed to break and his phone was fine.
The knife was dropped and Ross switched it in for the sword. It had a cover on it so he wouldn't accidentally stab himself or someone, but in this case, he wanted to stab Steve on purpose. It filled Ross with anger as he thought about Steve even more while he held the sword. But it wasn't time for the fight yet so he had to bottle up his anger and then metaphorically throw the bottles at Steve.
He huffed as he hurried downstairs. Ross wanted to waste no time rushing to fight Steve. He opened the glass doors and walked towards the garden and eventually into it. Steve stood in the middle of it, his back turned as if he were checking something. Ross looked at him and didn't even bother to take his eyes off him. When Steve turned around he still had his eyes glued to him.
