Chapter 20

It was early in the morning and the warm sunlight gently kissed my skin. I was walking in the beach barefoot feeling the grainy sand as it comforts my feet as I walked along the shore. The salty sea breeze blowing on my face felt wet and chilly as it passed by.

The beach was quiet, there was no sound of men, no children playing and laughing. Just the seagulls peacefully chirping as they soared up the sky. I can hear the howling of the wind whistling through the beach and the crashing of waves as it reach the shore to form a white foam erasing the footprint that I left behind.

This has been my source of comfort for the past days. Its been a month since the last time I've heard of Tharn. He said he was about to board the plane that time but he didn't returned that night. I don't know what happened I tried texting him everyday, calling him but no replies. He just left as fast as he came.

This past days have been hard for me, but what choice do I have but to act normal and to busied myself with work. The proposal has been approved and the resort had received an email from Tharn's secretary, there have been some changes in the plan but Its okay as long as we get the budget for renovations and improvements. I didn't worry much about Tharn's well being, the thought of him being safe is enough for me. I didn't tried to look for him either, Techno got a message from sir Thorn that Tharn will not be coming back anytime soon as he has some business to attend to and that if we need anything about the resort we should just contact the person incharge.

I stop as I passed by our spot, the part of the beach where we often sat down and just lay around and do nothing but be in each other's warmth. But now, it feels empty and cold. I shrugged the feeling and went on my way, Its another beautiful day I reminded myself.

The day went by as usual,the staff and I had our meals together, and then we attend to our daily task of welcoming the guests, tending to their needs and supervise the ongoing renovations. This has been my routine everyday, I wake up early, work hard during the day until I was too tired and then retire to bed.

It's 2pm now and I am in the front desk of the resort, checking the reservation of one of the guest, Techno and I are busy looking at our computers when a black BMW suddenly parked in front of the resort. Thinking that it was probably just another guest I ignored it and continue with my work until I heard Technic's voice.

" Phi Tharn!!!" the chubby boy shouted in excitement as he ran towards the man that I have been waiting for this entire time.

I dropped the keycard that I was about to give our guest, My hands are shaking and my fingers twitch as I grabbed the fallen card and handed it to our guest. My mind went blank and suddenly my heart beats fast.

I looked at the entrance and I see a figure of a man I am so familiar with, he was there standing outside, smiling back at the little boy while rubbing Technic's hair. I stared at him as I smiled, he still looks good, even better if I must say, he was wearing a sky blue button down shirt and a light colored pants, his hair is pulled back perfectly.

Our eyes finally met and I felt my heart skipped a beat. I smiled as I look at him, my eyes started to get wet as pool of tears starts to build up in my eyes. I saw him looked at me but his stare was blank, those deep dark eyes that once sparkle looks so dull. I flashed him the warmest smile that I can give but he suddenly averted his gazed.

Feeling confused, I excuse myself from the front desk and walk towards him, I need to see if this is really happening, if he is real. I hurried my steps to go to him, I can't wait to wrapped my arms around him. But I stopped in the middle when I realized that Tharn wasn't alone. A slightly shorter man with dark hair and pale skin with a soft delicate features came down from the car. Tharn helped him and took the other man's hand. I stood there frozen, trying to control my tears as I fake a smile. I saw Tharn looking at me with an expressionless face, and its suddenly dawned at me that Tharn wasn't here for me.
