The sounds of the birds could be heard. Rain drops carefully rolled down the leafs of the beautiful rose plant that resided in the elder's reading room. The outside was damp and cold from the rain that fell the night before.

Ashli sat opposite the elder, with a table in between them. His black hair was very neat and shiny. He wore a light blue inner clothing and a white outer robe over it.

He was busy discussing with the elder about the demonic water sphere crocodile, that Gorin fought a few days ago.

"Is it possible for these creatures to appear here?" Ashli asked.

" It's quite unusual, but it's also possible for these creatures to appear in a different habitat." The elder said then sipped his tea.

"They might've been trafficked." The elder said.

"But don't worry about that for now, the sect will handle it. I have bigger problems to worry about." The elder said.

"You do too. What is your opinion on this murder case?" The elder seriously asked.

Ashli remained silent for a while, before he finally voiced his opinion.

"I believe this case is a little confusing. From what I've seen the Duke is obviously responsible for all this." Ashli replied.

"But, why would he go through all this trouble to kidnap Icilan?" Ashli asked confused.

"Yes, why would a Duke go to so much trouble to kidnap a normal child." The elder also thought.

"This case is really confusing." Ashli said sighing.

"..."

"How did you come to the conclusion that it was the duke?" The elder asked.

"It was all thanks to Gorin." Ashli replied.

"You mean the kid with the bandana?" The elder said.

" Yes. He mostly did all the investigation with the help of his friend. I only helped him rescue Icilan." Ashli replied.

" Did he tell you how he got the information?"

"No. He just said his friend helped him." Ashli said.

"Do you know anything about this friend of his."

"No." Ashli replied.

"..."

The elder was lost in thought for a while.

"Can you tell me more about this Gorin?" The elder asked.

"I don't really know him much." Ashli said.

"Well, in my opinion he is very kind. I don't really know their relationship, but he has really been kind to Huga and Icilan."

"He is very strong both physically and magic wise." Ashli said.

'...and the way he swings his sword is really cool.' Ashli thought.

"Oh, he also acts a little too mature for his age."

"Do you trust him?" The elder asked.

"I must admit that some of the things he does are quite suspicious and unexplainable, but I believe he's trustworthy." Ashli said.

"..."

"I won't tell you to stay away from him, but I would advise you to be cautious around him. He might not be what you think." The elder advised.

"Hmm,hmm. Anyways tomorrow I'll address this matter to the council. I need you to write a detailed report." The elder said clearing his throat.

"You may go now." The elder said dismissing him.

The elder watched as Ashli left the room before proceeding to sit behind his writing table. He then took a brush and began to write.

Ashli arrived at his room. He saw Gorin meditating under the tall tree. He looked very peaceful. He saw Huga and Icilan seating on a bench together. He smiled then entered his room to write his report.
