"yeona, if anything hap-" yunjin began to say, but yeona cut her off.
"nothing will happen to us. we'll be fine and once this is all over, we can return to our normal lives" she stated calmly, contrast to what's happening outside her classroom.
even yeona knew from her own words we could never return to the past before the apocalypse, it was simply impossible. from all the lives we lost and the population decreasing she knew; even if she didn't want to believe it, that her life would never be the same.
yunjin sighed and glanced out to the hallway, watching the dead who she used to call her classmates less than a week ago try entering the classroom. if she would've looked longer she probably would've been able to recognize some.
yunjin was always the kind popular girl, she had a heart of gold. seeing all this come down so quickly broke her.
yeona glanced at yunjin and saw her worried expression. she wrapped an arm around her shoulder to comfort her, yunjin wasn't afraid to lean into her.
yeona was scared and concerned, no doubt everybody was scared. the one difference between her and the others was she knew how to mask her fear, she didn't show it. she knew by showing fear she'd make the others more scared too. her classmates looked up to her, she was known to be fearless.
"we'll be fine, i promise you"
