Y/N could feel their knuckles turn white as they gripped the steering wheel with frustration. Tears rolled down their face and blurred their vision, "Focus on the road, Y/N. Focus on the road." they thought to them self, wiping the droplets with their sleeve. It felt like their head was spinning with all of the negative thoughts whirring around. All they wanted to do was to get home and forget about everything, to get home and see Miles. Pulling up to a large, reddish-grey apartment building Y/N pulled into a parking spot and stepped out into the rain. They ran inside the building, trying to avoid the drizzle. "Great, now I'm upset AND drenched.", they thought. Trailing a puddle of water up to the second floor, they reached into their pocket and pulled out a jumble of keys. Inserting one, labeled '187', into the door. They twisted it and the door swung open.

* Swapped over to Y/N's POV

Almost instantly, I heard steps coming towards me. As much as I needed Laugh right now, I didn't want him to see me like this; red-faced, teary eyed, shivering and drenched in water—it felt so embarrassing. When he layed eyes on me, I saw his expression soften from a big grin to warm concern. "Y/N, are you okay?" He put his hands on either of my arms, as if keeping me from keeling over. I stared down at my feet, the heat in my face grew intenser and more tears just flowed. I choked out a sob as Miles' gaze softened, and he pulled me into a tight hug. Despite the wetness, it was comforting. "Awh, lovebug..." he said in a soothing voice "Lets get you all dried, then you can tell me.". He rubbed my back comfortingly until I stepped back, "Thank you." I said quietly.

* Back to third person!!!

Miles picked out a green fluffy towel from the closet in the hallway and handed it to Y/N. "Go get in something comfy, hun." They nodded and twisted the knob to them and Laugh's shared bedroom. They took off their wet clothes and tossed them into a basket; god, the this feeling sucked ass. Then they continued to dry themself off; the towel also being tossed alongside the wet clothes. They slipped on a t-shirt, a pair of shorts, and some fuzzy socks.

* Woo back 2 Y/N's POV

I went back out into the living room. Miles was sat on the couch, blankets basically covered the entire piece of furniture. Sitting down next to him and getting under the blankets, I couldn't help but pull him close. He looked me in the eyes, gaze softened "What happened today?". I let out a sigh; alot happened. "Well. My boss fired me because of some dumb shit a co-worker did." I leaned my head on his shoulder "He didn't believe me when I said it was her fault.". Miles leaned his head on mine "I'm sorry, hunny. That's really unfair." I lifted my head up and instead laid it on Laugh's lap, my arms crossed over my stomach. He began playing with my hair aimlessly "Let me guess, ...was it Becky?" he smiled. I chuckled and nodded "Yup." Miles made a 'tch' sound, but not in a snobby way. "Of course it was."

...

The two of us spent the rest of the night chatting aimlessly, joking, and just embracing one another. It was nice. Miles was like... One of those giant teddy bears you get on Valentines day, except he actually has feelings, and you won't get weird looks if you smooch him. I never wanted to get out of this situation, but I knew it must be late. So I slipped my phone out of my pocket, and clicked the on button. The light background felt blinding, but my eyes adjusted and... 2:47. "Hey, hunny. We should probably go to bed." Miles looked down at me "What time's it?" — "2:47."

"Oh shit yeah, we should." He said.

The two of us stood up and carried the blankets with us. Plopping them down onto the bed, both of us crawled under the covers. Turning towards him, I held his chin and kissed him "Goodnight Laughie." He smiled warmly "Goodnight, Y/N." Adjusting into comfortable positions, I ended up spooning him; which is quite ironic, giving that he is quite tall. Anyhoo, the both of us layed there quietly. Everything was still, barely any sounds were made; just the light sounds of breathing coming from the other. Eventually, we both drifted into a nice, calming rest.
