"I say you can't go, so you can't go!" Yelled Derrick.
"Fine, so you say 'jump off a cliff' and I'll jump off a cliff?!" I yelled back, "It doesn't work like that! I can do whatever I like!"
"So you like getting boozed up at parties with dodgy people, huh?" Questioned Derrick, "So you think that hanging around with our rivals is fun?"
I clenched my fists so hard that my knuckles turned pale white. "I just wanna go to Sheldon's bachelor party. Is that too much to ask?"
"Yeah it is. Now quit complaining and just shut up!"
I blinked away hot tears of frustration and stormed up to my bedroom. Derrick and Cola share bedrooms because there are only 2 rooms, and they don't sleep with me 'cause I kick when I'm asleep.
Derrick followed me. "You are grounded and will not leave this house at all tonight."
I just knew he was trying to keep me away from this party. But his plan won't work. I also have a plan.
I was near the bedroom door when Derrick said, "Oh god, I'm gonna be late to meet Alice!"
As I slammed the door I yelled, "You shouldn't act hard to get when you're hard to want!"
"Go to your room!" He hollered after me. I opened the door and slammed it again, "I am in my room!"
I lay down on the bed, kicking in frustration. Shoot, it annoys me so much when I can't do something I wanna do. But who says I can't? I know, I know, Derrick told me straight to my face I can't go, but just because he says I can't doesn't mean I have to listen...
It was now 9 o'clock at night. Cola ouwast with his girlfriend, same as 1vibe till late and Derrick was in his room probably doing homework or some other garbage. I knew he wouldn't come to my room, not after the argument we had earlier. I put on some decent clothes, black jeans and a big black t-shirt with the silver outline of a skull. It was once Cola's. I pulled on a leather jacket since it was a chilly night. I was just about to reach for the lock on my window when I heard a low knock on the door. I jumped. Why would Derrick wanna come into my room at this time? Suddenly the door handle turned. I quickly dove into my bed and slid into the covers, pretending to be asleep.
It wasn't Derrick, it was Cola. I wondered to myself why Cola was home so early. I thought Cola was supposed to be back after midnight at least. My curiosity finally got the best of me. "Cola, why are you back so early?"
He just stared at me in silence. There was some look in his eyes which I had difficulty reading. It looked like disappointment, sadness or pain or something I was unaware about. I tried speaking to Cola again, "Cola, is any-"
"Shut up, okay?" Cola said quietly, "I wanna just forget tonight. So just shut up, willya?"
I felt kind of surprised. Cola-ray was usually happy and always talked about his outings with his girlfriend, Lisa. I felt even more surprised when Cola came onto my bed and pulled up the covers and just stared at the ceiling. Cola and Derrick never sleep on the same bed as me because I kick during my sleep. Now a problem was simulating. If Cola was going to be sleeping with me, and I was going to be sneaking out, Cola could wake up at night and find that I'm not there. Worse yet, he could get Derrick involved in this and you don't even want to know what Derrick could do if he discovered I sneaked out. There was only 1 option left...
"Cola, can I tell you a secret?"
"Fine." Cola answered sleepily. He didn't seem in the right mood to be trusted. But I still had to hope that Cola would go along with my plan.
"So, umm, you know how, like... um people sneak out sometimes?"
"Just get to the point already." Cola said drowsily.
