It was pitch black. Usually, things are bright with streaks of darkness in pure golden light, but there wasn't any light this time. Just pitch black darkness. Something was off today. I wasn't sure what yet, but I am sure I would figure it out. I usually figure it out. "Hey Monkey King! I think I figured it out this time?!" Yelled MK in the darkness. Monkey King opens his eyes as he is sitting on his cloud by his tail as he looks towards MK. " Nice bud, you're really close, but not there yet." said Monkey king calmly as he moved from sitting to lying down on his cloud, as he ate peach chips from a bag. Mk was balancing on the top of his staff in the lake by the waterfall to the entrance of Monkey king's home in the flower fruit mountains. Mk was standing on one foot on the staff as he tried to stay balanced while standing on one foot. "Oh come on! What am I doing wrong?! I've been trying to balance on this staff for the past few hours." Groans MK as he starts to lose balance, but puts his arms out and manages to rebalance himself, as he sighs in relief since he doesn't fall off. "Bud, I told you before, didn't I? That I wouldn't teach you anything that you wouldn't use. You learning how to find proper balance would help you have an easier time fighting as well as dodging. Plus, you have to learn balance before you even try to train higher up the mountain." said Monkey king as he eats more peach chips as he continues to look at MK. Monkey king was on his cloud underneath a shaded tree as the other monkeys were in the trees just watching Mk and Monkey king. "Higher up the mountain! We are going to train higher up the mountain?!" asks Mk excitedly as he loses balance. "AH WAIT!" shouted MK as he fell off the staff and the staff shrinks back to normal size. Mk starts to yell as he falls and he lands in the water. The staff then spins down to the ground, stabbing the ground on the edge of the water. Monkey king sighs as he sits up on the cloud and looks at Mk in the water as he eats another peach chip. "Guess you lost your focus and balance. You should take a break, you have been trying for a good while. Always good to take breaks." said Monkey king calmly as he rested one of his hands on the side of his cheek as he looked at Mk. Mk swam up from under the water to the surface of the water of Lake. Mk then coughed up the water he accidentally swallowed when he fell into the water. MK swam to the edge of the lake and dragged himself out of the water, soaking wet, onto the edge of the shore of the lake. "Ok yeah I did, but I almost had it that time. And I probably should..... Um hey, Monkey King?" asks MK as he looks at Monkey king laying on the shore on his stomach. "Hmmm? What's Up bud?" asks Monkey king as he eats another peach chip as he looks at Mk and stops resting his hand on his cheek, and sits properly on the cloud. "Um well I'm not sure, but does today feel a bit off? I know that sounds weird, but I don't know.... It just feels like something is going to happen today that is important?" asks Mk as he moves from laying down to sitting up as he looks at Monkie king and rubs the back of his head a bit confused. Monkey king sighs. "So you've been feeling that too? Yeah, something feels off today, but I'm not sure what. I wouldn't worry too much about it Bud. If something happens in town I'm sure your friends would tell you. Plus if anything happens here, you got me here." said Monkey king calmly and then with a confident smile at MK as he tosses Mk a towel. "Uh, I guess you're right. I'm sure Mei would call me if anything was happening in town. She has done it before..." said MK, sounding like he was trying to convince himself as he catches the towel and starts to dry himself off while sitting down. "Bud, everything should be fine. Have I ever steered you wrong?" asks Monkey king confidently as he eats another peach chip as he continues to look at Mk. "Um well no you haven't. I'm just gonna look at my phone real quick to make sure everything is ok." said Mk as he gets up and quickly goes over to the towel on the floor with snacks on the blanket where he left his phone. Monkey king just sighs as he eats another peach chip as he lays down on his cloud as he looks at MK. The towel and snacks were next to Monkey king cloud under a tree by the water. There were three monkeys eating snacks on the towel. Mk stops in front of the towel on the floor as he picks up his phone off the towel. Mk was still wet, but he wasn't bothered by it at the moment. As he looked at his phone Mei had texted him, but it was just puppy videos like normal and one picture of her taking a selfie of her new record of monkey mech. Mk sighs, glad that everything is ok as he sits on an empty spot on the towel. Mk put the towel he was drying off with earlier down next to the towel he was sitting on the grass away from the snacks on the towel."Well everything is fine there. Mei texted me the usual things earlier when I was training." said Mk calmly as he looked up at Monkey king. "See bud, everything is fine right now. So why don't you get some rest while I'll try and figure out that odd feeling of something is going to happen." said Monkey King with a smile at Mk. "Yeah alright. But if anything happens and I don't hear my phone, can you get me up?" asks Mk as he sighs and places his phone down next to him as he looks at Monkey king. "Sure thing bud. Now get some rest, I bet you're tired from all that balancing and falling." said Monkey king with a smirk at Mk as he eats another peach chip. "I- Yeah.... It's a bit difficult especially since the staff moves at times and the wind..." said Mk as he lays down and sighs as he looks up at the leaves above them in the trees. "That's understandable if you need anything else while you get some rest, let me know." said Monkey king as he stops looking at Mk and looks up at the same tree MK was looking up at as he eats another peach chip. "Will do." said MK with a yawn as he was tired and started to doze off. Monkey king sighs as he looks up at the trees as he closes his eyes, paying attention to his surroundings and trying to figure out what the odd feeling was. Monkey king then feels something odd, like a familiar presence he hasn't felt in a few years. It wasn't one of the people he traveled with in JTTW, but it was a presence he knew before he fought the demon bull king, but a different one that he had some unsure feelings for. Monkey King immediately opens his eyes and sits up as everything is golden, and streaks of silver and black in his vision. Monkey King quickly looks around but doesn't see anything different than before he closed his eyes. The color in his vision goes back to normal as Monkey king blinks and sighs as he grumbles and lays back down on the cloud. ' Am I imagining things or was that him? Or his apprentices? I'm not sure. I know we didn't leave on the best of terms...But he wouldn't have come here unless something happened.... Maybe it's his apprentice?... But why would he send his apprentice here? Did something happen? UGH... I can't just leave this be can I?........*sighs* Nope definitely can't especially with the kid here...' thought Monkey king as he grumbles and sits back up as he looks around the area, not seeing anything different. Mk had fallen asleep on the towel. Monkey king sighs as he looks at MK, Monkey king's tail is flicking as he tries to think. He rests his hand on his cheek again and just looks up at the forest past MK. 'There has to be something other than a feeling he is here right? Or maybe it isn't even him and maybe his apprentice?...I wish I had a better memory of their presence... I wonder what they are doing in this area... or the town area?..... Hmm...' thought Monkey king. As Monkey king thought about the presence he felt Mk's friends were at Pigsy noodle shop when... "Guys! Guys! Turn on the Tv! Something is going on." shouted Sandy as he was outside with Mo. Sandy was sitting outside with some tea playing cards with Mo at an outside table. "Huh? What could be going on now?! I swear if it's the Demon bull king again I'm most likely going to have to move to a different area to make sure this place doesn't get destroyed! What Channel Sandy!" asks Pigsy, annoyed as he picks up the remote as he places another bowl of noodles down. "Oh come on Pigsy don't be overdramatic. I'm sure you wouldn't have to move this place somewhere else even if it was the Demon bull king." said Tang calmly as he eats noodles. "That's easy for you to say, it isn't your place at risk! Hey, who said you could have those noodles you Freeloader?!" shouts Pigsy as Pigsy looks at Tang. "Huh? Oh, that's interesting. It's the news channel right Sandy?" asks Mei as she was scrolling on her phone at one of the tables inside the noodle shop. Tang just continues to eat as Pigsy yells at him. "Yeah! You should probably tell Mk about this once you see this." said Sandy as he stopped playing cards with Mo and was looking at the tv with the news channel turned on across the street to Pigsy's rival restaurant. Pigsy blinks as he turns on the Tv and changes it to the news channel. "We will talk about this later you freeloader." said Pigsy, annoyed too Tang as Pigsy looks at the tv. "Alright." said Tang as Tang continues to eat noodles as he moves to face the tv as he continues to sit in his seat by the kitchen. Mei looks up at the tv screen as she places her phone down on the table. "Today we have some terrible news. The city Shēng huó Megapolis was under attack by a group of the undead and their leader Skelly The Death Queen. Here is some footage of the recent events of this tragedy." said the newswoman who has straight hair and some papers in her hands, and was in the regular news channel room where they gave the news. The newswomen wore proper news-reporting clothing. As they switch to the footage, the group sees this destroyed city with broken buildings, things on fire, and areas completely destroyed, taken over by the undead skeletons as skeletons pillage, plunder and attack the city. The destroyed city seems like it used to focus more on agriculture, and animals as fields of crops were on fire and the city was surrounded by mountains. It then shows Skelly The Death Queen laughing as she stood on top of a car. "Nothing can stop me now! I am the most powerful being in this city now! With this stone in my hand, all of the undead will rise and bow before me! Everyone must leave this city at once! This is my home now you got that! My home!" yells Skelly The Death Queen as she laughs maniacally. Skelly The Death Queen wore a purple and gold cloak and looked like a skeleton with a crown on Skelly's head that was made of melted gold and gems. Skelly also wore black gloves with a golden brim as she held this purple stone that had ancient writing with a purple mist swirling around the stone as it was whispering. The other camera woman and the reporter woman that was showing Skelly that were recording in the city were cowering behind the car as they see Skelly The Death Queen raise the stone up towards the sky as the stone glows brightly as undead skeletons rose from the ground. "Flee! Flee! This is our home! Kick the uninvited guest out! Take back what is rightfully ours!" shouts Skelly The Death Queen as a bunch of skeletons turn their heads toward the news people. The camera woman holding the camera back up. "W-we need to go now!" said the camera women fearfully as the skeletons screeched and ran towards the camera women, and the Report women as they got up, and started to run as the skeletons gave chase and Skelly The Death Queen was laughing maniacally. The news report then switches to different footage of a flying vehicle recording the city from above where they could see people fleeing from the city and the skeletons giving chase to the fleeing people around the city. These recordings were from last night."This is some horrible news and this all happened last night. Many of the people were able to flee because of Moon Ikigai and his apprentice Xzander. There are still fights going on, but because of this sudden attack on the city of Shēng huó Megapolis the mayor has allowed the refugees to come to Megapolis. We will continue to monitor and update you on the situation." said the news lady as the screen changed to day footage of the destroyed town with the fires now turned purple and the city looking more destroyed and smoke in the air. The screen then switches to the refugees as there was a big line of vehicles and people walking towards Megapolis. The large group of people seems to be helping one another to get to Megapolis, some people injured and some people being carried. Some kids were playing while others were eating while they walked towards Megapolis. The screen then splits to show the two scenes, the one with the refugees and the other with live footage of Shēng huó Megapolis with a different flying vehicle now, since they must have switched it from the other one from last night. "Those poor people... But um, who is Moon Ikigai and Xzander?" asks Mei confused as she looks at the tv screen. "Yeah....I hope everything turns out alright for them... Wait! If they are coming here doesn't that mean business will be booming from the number of people who are coming to this town?!" asks Pigsy as he put the tv remote down on the counter. "Mmm, maybe Pigsy really depends if they left their money behind.... Also Moon Ikigai I believe lives in the mountains far away from this place. I've heard brief stories about him, but all mentioned him and Monkey king going on adventures when he vanished a while back. I didn't really believe them though since Monkey king did vanish after defeating the demon bull king. No idea why Monkey king would go that far away. But maybe those tales were true?" said Tang as he slurps up some noodles. "Interesting... Also, Stop eating my noodles, you freeloader!" shouted Pigsy as he looked at Tang. "Huh, interesting. Welp better tell MK about this. He would probably be interested to know this, plus I don't think he would like to be surprised by how many more people come to this city if they get here before MK comes back." said Mei calmly as she picks up her phone and starts to text Mk. "Oh Pigsy, Pigsy, Pigsy if you want more information on Moon Ikigai can that be payment for this bowl of noodles?" asks Tang as he continues to eat the noodles. "Like I've told you before, I'm not Running a charity shop here!" shouts Pigsy at Tang. Sandy drinks his tea as he goes back to playing cards with Mo outside Pigsy noodle shop as Sandy continues to watch the news on the tv across the street. Pigsy continues to be upset with Tang about the free noodles as Tang calmly talks to Pigsy and Tang continues to eat the noodles. Mei texts Mk 'Hey Mk. I've got some news for you. I know you said earlier when we were playing Monkey mech that you were going to be training with Monkey king today but some stuff happened in Shēng huó Megapolis and now a bunch of refugees are coming to the city.' Mei sends the message to Mk. Mei then remembers what Tang said and decides she might as well text Mk about it just to see if what Tang said was true or not, 'Oh also someone named Moon Ikigai and Xzander was fighting this Skeleton demon named Skelly The Death Queen at Shēng huó Megapolis. I asked who Moon Ikigai and Xzander were and Tang said that he heard some tales about the Monkey king and Moon Ikigai and that they knew each other?' Mei sends the next message to Mk. 'Not sure though about Monkey king knowing Moon Ikigai but thought I would mention it to you. Anyways text or call me if you want to talk more about this. See you in a bit Mk.' texts Mei as she puts the phone down and looks at Pigsy and Tang. Tang is shoveling the noodles into his mouth as Pigsy yells at him trying to take the noodles away from Tang. "Tang give it! You have to pay for this, you know that!" shouts Pigsy annoyed as he continues to try and take the bowl of noodles from Tang. "But I did pay with knowledge." said Tang, muffled as he tried to finish the noodles he was eating before Pigsy could try and take the noodles away. Mk gets three one-time rings as the phone bounces up and lands down three times to show that Mk got the messages from Mei. Sun Wukong blinks as he shakes his head to get out of his thinking and looks at Mk's phone. Mk's phone stops bouncing and lands back in the spot it was in before. Sun Wukong sighs as he moves his tail and picks up a stick with his tail, and taps Mk with the stick. "I know you haven't gotten much rest but your phone just rang three times." said Sun Wukong calmly to Mk. Mk grumbles in his sleep not wanting to get up as he moves in his sleep. Sun Wukong sighs as he tosses the stick to the side as Sun Wukong moves his arm away from his cheek. Sun Wukong then moves his tail as he picks up Mk with his tail and looks at Mk. "Huh? Wha? Why am I upside down?" asks Mk as he yawns tiredly and confused and he automatically wakes up from being picked up and upside down. "Your phone rang bud." said Monkey king as he gently grabs MK and lets go of Mk with his tail and proceeds to flip Mk back to the right side up and places Mk down and then he lets go of Mk. "Wha?! When did it ring?!" asks Mk as he quickly goes to pick up his phone. As Mk grabs his phone, he loses his grip on his phone and tries catching the phone again. Mk ends up hitting the phone three times as he loses his balance and falls, as he yells a bit before he hits the floor. Monkey king catches Mk's phone with his tail as he looks at MK. "You alright bud?" asks Monkey king calmly but a tiny bit concerned since Mk has fallen a lot today. "Yup! Just lost my balance again. Um, can I have my phone back now?" asks Mk as he quickly gets up off the floor as he gently rubs the back of his head as he looks at Monkey king. Mk was slightly blushing from embarrassment. "Sure thing. Guess we do need to work on your balance though." said Monkey king with a smirk as he tosses the phone to Mk. "Hey I got it a few times!" said Mk as he catches his phone this time and looks at Monkey king and then at his phone. "Yes you did bud, but there are some things you got to work on. Hmmm maybe we can try something different to help you work on your balance more." said Monkey king as he eats another peach chip. MK's eyes were big in surprise as he just read Mei texts as he just looked at Monkey king and blinked at Monkey king. Mk's blush was gone now. "Uhhhh you alright bud?" asks Monkey king confused as he looks at Mk. Mk blinks and shakes his head to get the look of shock and surprise off his face. "Oh yeah, everything is fine. But um Mei texted me something interesting." said MK somewhat quickly as he looked at Monkey king and rubbed the back of his head with one hand. "Alright? So what's up? What's so interesting?" asks Monkey king calmly as he looks at Mk and eats another chip. "Um well.... So Mei texted me that Shēng huó Megapolis was attacked and that someone named Moon Ikigai and Xzander was fighting this Skeleton demon named Skelly The Death Queen. Not sure why they are fighting Skelly The Death Queen, maybe Skelly attacked Shēng huó Megapolis? Anyways, Mei also mentioned that there were tales about you and Moon Ikigai knowing each other and I was wondering if you do know each other? She also said some refugees were coming into Megapolis." said Mk decently quickly as he looked at his phone and back at Monkey king a few times. Monkey king blinks as he was in the process of eating another chip but stopped as Mk told him this. Monkey king seems a bit surprised and after a few seconds, he finishes the whole chip. "Interesting. Maybe you should call Mei to get more answers." said Monkey king calmly... Mk blinks as he notices Monkey king avoids the Moon Ikigai question as he looks at Monkey king. "Um yeah, you're probably right. I'll see what is going on... Do you think this has to do with the odd feeling we've been feeling today?" asks MK as he rubs the back of his head as he thinks he probably shouldn't ask about Moon Ikigai till later on. "No idea bud, maybe. Hope not since that means we would feel when other cities are being attacked... Maybe it's something else that involves that city?" said Monkey king as he eats another chip. "Uh true.... I'm going to go call Mei." said Mk as he pointed towards the forest away from Monkey king. "Alright. Let me know if anything else happens." said Monkey king as he lays down on the cloud as he eats another chip. "Will do." said Mk as he stopped pointing and stopped rubbing the back of his head as he walked off the towel and went around the monkeys to the area of forest that was a bit away from Monkey king to talk to Mei. 'Moon Ikigai.... Haven't heard his name in a while...... Guess I was right about feeling his presence earlier... But why would I feel his presence if he is all the way in Shēng huó Megapolis? He is also with his apprentice Zxander... So they are nowhere near here..... Maybe it was his second apprentice?.... I should go check just in case.... I know I haven't kept up with where Moon Ikigai apprentices are... And it's been years....Ugh.... I'll just go take a look when the refugees get here with Mk. Plus if it is actually his apprentice then I can actually try and talk to Moon again and apologize....' thought Sun Wukong as he eats another chip as he looks up at the tree leaves. "Hey Mei. So what's going on? I read your text but is there anything else I should know?" Asks Mk as he was on a call with Mei. Mk had the phone up to the side of his face. A few monkeys were by Mk as they were just watching Mk, some in trees, some on the ground running after one another. "Hey, Mk! Ok so basically Sandy said to turn on the TV with the news channel and so we did. So when we were watching the news on the TV it showed Shēng huó Megapolis getting attacked by this skeleton called Skelly The Death Queen. They also said Moon Ikigai and Xzander were fighting Skelly The Death Queen in the city but all the people in Shēng huó Megapolis had to flee the city. Apparently, the mayor is allowing the refugees from Shēng huó Megapolis to come here. Did you ask Monkey king if he knows Moon Ikigai?" Asks Mei on the phone to Mk. Mk could hear Pigsy yelling and Tang being calm about the bowl of noodles. "Oh ok. Well thanks for telling me and I did ask but Monkey king completely avoided the question and did not at all acknowledge the question about Moon Ikigai. Although I only asked once and Monkey king seemed surprised by the name. Maybe they did know each other but he doesn't want to say? I'm unsure." said Mk calmly but a bit more quietly about the Moon Ikigai so Monkey king didn't hear him talk about Moon Ikigai to Mei. "No problem and Oh? That's odd. Hey Tang, did any of the stories you heard say that Monkey king and Moon Ikigai had any issues going on between them?" asks Mei as she looks at Tang as she stays on the phone with Mk. "Hmmm... Well, there was one where I heard that Monkey king and Moon Ikigai got into a fight about something. I, unfortunately, didn't get to hear the full story about it since the person telling me the story had to go." Said Tang as he slurps up noodles but Pigsy manages to take away the noodles from Tang but it is all gone now. "Tang! You better be paying for these noodles." Said Pigsy, annoyed as he looked at Tang. "Huh? Well did you hear what Tang said Mk?" Asks Mei as she continues to talk on the phone with Mk. "Yeah, I did. Thanks for the information, Mei. Can you let me know when the refugees arrive?" Asks Mk calmly to Mei. "Will do Mk. We are still hanging out later right?" Asks Mei as she watches Pigsy chase after Tang around the store. "Yeah! And I'll beat you at Monkey mech tonight for sure!" Said Mk cheerfully. "Are you sure about that? I've beaten you at Monkey mech so many times." Said Mei cheerfully. "Um yes! I've been practicing. I'll see you tonight ok?" Said Mk. "Alright, Mk and we will see if you can win tonight bye!" Said Mei cheerfully to Mk. "Bye Mei, see you tonight." Said Mk calmly to Mei as both Mei and Mk hung up their phones. Mk sighs as he looks at Monkey king and walks back over to Monkey king. "Ok so from what Mei said is that the mayor said the refugees could come to Megapolis and Skelly The Death Queen was the one attacking Shēng huó Megapolis. Mei also said she was going to call me back if the refugees get there before I get back." said Mk calmly to Monkey King as he places his phone down on the towel and sits down on the towel again in the same spot he was at before. "I see that's good. Oh also I'm coming with you back to the city when you go back." said Monkey king calmly as he looks at Mk and eats another chip. "Wait really?! Why would you come back to the city with me? You usually just stay here or do you go down to the city when I'm not here?" Asks Mk enthusiastically but unsure as well as he looks at Monkey king. "Well, that odd feeling we have been feeling most likely either is in Shēng huó Megapolis or with the refugees. I would rather make sure to see if it's the refugees. Also, I've come to the city before. Although when I go with you I'm going to have to shift into my bird form." Said Monkey king calmly to Mk as he eats another chip. " Why do you have to shift into your bird form when we head into the city?" Asks Mk confused as looks at Monkey king. "Well you see bud it's another city coming to this city and I'm pretty sure they would know who I am. So better to become a bird to not attract attention. I would also not use the staff unless you need it to fight to not give it away to people that you are my appreciate." Said Monkey king as he tries to get another chip in his chip bag but realizes that he ate all the chips so he just crumples up the bag and looks at Mk. "Oh ok, that makes sense." Said Mk as he rubs the back of his head as he looks at Monkey king. "Yup. So are you done resting now or do you still need a few more minutes?" Asks Monkey king as he sits up on the cloud as he continues to look at Mk. "Oh Um I'm good now I think I should be able to get it this time." Said Mk enthusiastically as he gets up and looks at Monkey king. "Alright, bud, and I'm sure you figure it out." Said Monkey king with a smile at MK. "Ok, I got this. I've tried doing this for over a few hours I can get it this time. And if I can get this I can totally beat Mei at Monkey mech. Yeah, I got this!" Said Mk enthusiastically as he turns around, goes over to his staff, and then picks up the staff. Mk then extended the staff into the water and gets pulled up into the sky a bit above the water. Mk then carefully pulls himself to the end of the staff and carefully stands on the end of the staff as he tries to balance himself again on the staff.
