At midnight, Virat gently woke Tara. She rubbed her eyes, startled.


"Calm down... it's just me. Listen, we are leaving. I've packed everything. Take Avi, and let's go," he whispered.


Tara blinked, scared.


"But Virat... why leave? We are happy here," she murmured, folding her hands.


Virat held her hands firmly.


"Tara... my sister Shagun... she wants to either send you to Rehab or jail. I can't risk it," he said.


Tara's eyes widened.


"Jail? No... I've changed. I won't hurt anyone. She can't take me from you or our daughter," she cried.


"That's why we have to go now. Take Avi," he said softly.


Tara nodded, picking up sleeping Avi. Virat pushed the stroller toward her. She placed Avi inside and took her suitcase. Virat grabbed his and opened the door.

They slipped into the cab waiting outside, the city sleeping around them, and drove off into the night toward a safe new life
