Emily called her friends the next day and excitedly told them that she was engaged. They were so happy for her. Over the next few days, she'd plan with Zaiden for the wedding. Anna and Cheri were to be the bridesmaids. Robin would be the maid of honor. Zaiden started his business back up, so he was making a good amount of money. Since her friends had already gone back to their home town, they helped Emily and Zaiden plan from over the phone. Emily went through the wedding dress store in her town. Her phone was on facetime with Cheri and Anna. Robin was working. "You know, Em, we have some great selections up here. You could come up and visit and we can go dress shopping." Anna said. Emily was having a hard time finding the right dress. "I think your right. I'll talk to Zaiden." "Ok, we'll be looking for you! Just text us when your on your way!" Cheri replied. Emily smiled. "Alright, I will."
When Emily got back, she told Zaiden about her plan to go visit her friends. "I think it might be a good idea. Also, you could find your suit while we were there." "That sounds like a good idea. In fact, I think I might be able to take a couple days off of work so we can go." he smiled. "Alright!" I'll text them and let them know!" Emily declared. After talking a little while with him, she went to text her friends.
A few days later, Emily and Zaiden went the train station. It was a few hours before they got there, but they enjoyed the ride. When they finally arrived, it was three in the afternoon. "I texted Robin that we're here. She said she'd meet us here and drive us to the hotel." Emily stated. Zaiden nodded. "Ok." he replied. In a few minutes, Robin arrived. "Hi, Emily! Hi, Zaiden! How was your trip?" she asked. "It was good. How are you, Robin?" Emily asked with a smile. "I am doing well." Robin replied. A few minutes went by as the three talked. "So, Emily, when do you want to go shopping?" "Well, I was thinking tomorrow. Zaiden, what do you think?" "I think, that sounds like a pretty good idea. I'll go looking for a suit and meet you back at the hotel." he replied. "Alright! How about you, Robin? I could use some help picking out my dress. Possible Anna and Cheri?" "Of course, Emily! Count me in! And I know Anna and Cheri will want to come along as well." "Great! After breakfast we could meet around ten. Sound good?" "It's good for me. I'll ask the girls." Robin said.
The next day, Zaiden went shopping for a suit. One thing that troubled him, he didn't have a best man or a groom's man. "I need at least one.." he mumbled as he looked through some suits.
Emily meanwhile, was looking for the perfect wedding dress with her friends. "Maybe we should split up. Cheri, maybe you can come with me?" Emily suggested. "Sounds like a great idea!" the girls agreed. While Cheri and Emily looked through multiple dresses with no luck, Robin and Anna were having a discussion.
"Anna, this dress is something you'd wear. I can't imagine Emily wearing this." Robin declared. Anna shook her head. "Maybe you're right. It just looks so-" "You?" Robin interrupted, proving her point. "Yes. Ok, you're right. I'm thinking about me not Em." she groaned. "This is going to be harder than I thought." "Maybe. But it shouldn't be that bad. We know her well. We know what she likes and what she doesn't!" Robin declared. "Yea!" Anna smiled. The two girls set to work, looking for the perfect dress for their friend.
"I don't want to have to go to another town looking for a dress!" Emily exclaimed. She and Cheri had had no luck. "Everything is...really nice. Just..not me." "I know, Emily. It'll be ok. You'll find your dress, I know it! Don't worry about it. Maybe Anna and Robin had better luck." "Maybe." Emily remarked. "We found a few!" Anna declared, coming up to the two. Robin was walking behind her carrying some dresses. "Ok, so, we found at least three that seemed like you." Robin explained, handing them to Emily. Emily smiled. "Thank girls!" she said before hurrying to try them on. The first one, had a lace overlay on the skirt, a sweetheart neckline, and short sleeves. "It's not so bad.." Emily stated as she came out to show her friends. "Yea, it isn't that bad. It looks pretty good, actually." Cheri replied. "I really like it." Anna said. "I think, I need to see the other two before I make a decision." Robin replied. Emily nodded and went to try the next one on. This one, had a small V-neck, lace 3-quarter sleeves, and a lace overlay on the skirt and bodice. "This is pretty, but I don't think it's quite you." Anna remarked. "I'd have to agree." Robin stated. "I think this might be something I'd wear, but it's not my wedding." Cheri laughed. Emily laughed. "I think I'd have to agree. It's nice. But I think there may be too much lace. Besides, the sleeves are itchy!" They four girls laughed and Emily went to try on the last one. This one, was plain. It had some embellishments on the bodice, but nothing too fancy. It had long sleeves and it trailed a little on the ground. "This is....perfect.." Emily said, staring at her reflection in the mirror. "For sure. I love this on you!" Anna declared. "You look wonderful, Emily." Robin smiled. "You do look lovely, Em." Cheri told her. "Thank you so much, girls!" Emily said, hugging her friends tightly, crying tears of joy. "Of course, Em! We were happy to help!" Anna told her. "Indeed we were." Robin smiled. Cheri nodded in agreement.
Zaiden, meanwhile, had found the right suit. As he was checking out, he ran into a young man buying a necklace for his sister's birthday. The two got to talking and got a coffee together. They were getting along well. "So, look, I need to ask a favor of you." Zaiden said. "Ok, what is it?" he asked. "So, I need a best man. And...It's a long story, but I don't know anyone except my fiance and her friends. Would you consider being my best man? I need a witness for this wedding." "Sure, Zaiden! I'd be happy to help. Do you have your suit yet?" "Thanks, Sean. Yes, I have the suit. We can go find your now if you want." "Sure! I don't have to meet up with my sister for a couple more hours, so I have some time." he replied. "Ok, cool!" The two finished their drinks and then went to look for a suit for Sean.
