Propping my laptop on my lap, I began scrolling through ads for roommates. Most of them were cheap 1 bedroom apartments near the community college. But my heart almost stopped when I saw an ad for a roommate at a 2 bedroom apartment, which was really modern and newly built. For only $950 for the first 2 months.

I took off my glasses and wiped my eyes. Seriously?! What a steal! I clicked on the ad and contacted the person who posted it.

(Vincent Monrone: Hey, I'm interested in the ad for the 2 bedroom apt. Is there anyway I could come by and see if it's legit?)

(Phen Ziche: Sure, I have work late tmrw. So come by before 9.)

(Vincent Monrone: Thanks, by the way how much is rent in total. I want to pay fair price.)

(Phen Ziche: It's ... a month. You'll be paying only half the rent. Is that ok?)

(Vincent Monrone: Thats fair. I'll be there at 2 tomorrow.)

I sighed before realizing, shit I forgot about my story project for class tomorrow. I guess I should finish it...

I wake up to my alarm beeping over and over again. The most atrocious sound I could hear in the morning, besides Audrey's yelling. Ugh. I roll off of my bed, catching myself as soon as my feet hit the ground. I stood and put on my slippers and left the room to go make myself some coffee.

Breakfast is the most essential meal of the day my ass. Coffee is the most essential thing EVERYDAY, ALL DAY! I could never live without it. As soon as I poured it in my mug, which had a little cat on it, I sat on the couch and turned on the news. Audrey calls me an old man for watching the news but we are all old men at heart, right?

I took a sip of my coffee but as soon as I did, the news said something mind boggling.

"Reporters say that there's a mad man who seems to think he's a vampire. He ran away before the cops could arrive. But the victim seemed to survive to tell his tale."

"Yea he had sharp fangs! And like wierd blueish hair!"

My mouth dropped and eyes widened. What?! A VAMPIRE?! My first thought wasn't "Oh no, I might be a victim to a vampire boo hoo." It was, "A vampire, I need to meet them."

I look at the time, 10:11. I guess I should get ready for class. I walked to my bedroom and opened my wardobe, looking at the array of different shades of brown and black shirts, maybe a white one or two. I grabbed a white, long-sleeve, button up and a light brown, low-collar sweater to put over top. Then I found a pair of tan dress pants.

Once I finished getting dressed I put on a gold, lock necklace and 2 pyrite rings. I shoved an apple in my bag for my lecture and poured myself a to-go cup of coffee. Fuck I might be late if I don't hurry...
I put on a pair of brown leather shoes that matched my outfit and booked it out the door.

My lecture hall wasn't far from my house, only about a 15 minute walk or in my case a 5 minute run. I stopped at the stairs and checked my phone, 10:42, just on time. I climbed up the stairs, still trying to catch my breath, heaving my backpack up the stairs. I walked down the east hall and entered the room. Almost everyone was there already.

I walked down one of the rows in the back and sat down, setting my backpack in the seat next to me so that no one can sit next to me. I've never been a people person, probably never will be. Friends are never permanent.

Nothings ever permanent, my sister, my parents, friends, partners, etc. But that's fine, I have me. Shit, I have to check that apartment today. I remembered that I might get a roommate soon. "Hello everybody, you should have turned in your Literature Assignment. If not, please turn it in now."
I was knocked out of my thoughts by my professor, Ms. Linguini.

I pulled out my laptop and went to my assignment to turn it in. Once everyone turned it in, the professor explained our next project. A group project... No, please god help me. I sigh and put my head in my hands. This class is hell sometimes.

I sit on the cold pavement infront of the apartment building from the ad. Just as I zipped up my jacket, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.

(Phen Ziche: The doors unlocked, come in when you want)

I wondered how they knew I was outside, if they even knew. I got up with a shiver and walked up to the door with the number 420. Such a unique number, I thought as I check my phone once more to make sure this was the correct address. Anxiously, I turned the handle and peeked my head in. It was nicely kept with pale blue walls and a bright hardwood floor at the entrance.

"Uhm knock knock, I'm here to check out the apartment." I jumped as I heard a high male voice yell back, "Yes, yes, make yourself at home. I'll be out in a second." I walked in and closed the door. Then making my way to the living room, which had a soft grey sofa and a white coffee table infront of it. There was also a mounted TV on the wall directly infront of the couch.

I sit down on the couch and look around. Everything seemed brand-new and even with some furniture, the walls were really empty. I could hear somebody walk down the hallway before being greeted by the guy I had saw yesterday. Shit, this is awkward. "It's you?!" I blurted out in shock. "Oh, uhm hey..." He looked at me wide eyed. We both obviosly did not expect this. We sat there staring at eachother in awkward silence...
