I'm in Love with my Best Friend

Prologue

THIS IS A STORY of a girl and her guy best friend.

She was seven years old when she became an orphan. Ever since her parents died in a car crash, Blaire Madison has had to live with her Lola Mercedes.

"If you have someone to share your pain with, it gets that much harder to tell them you are hurting because... you don't want to be the cause of their pain."

The world in her eyes was a vast expanse of silent darkness. She keeps all her sorrows to herself. Fortunately, fate is not that cruel and cold-blooded. Although it gave her agony, it also let her meet him.

He appeared through a twist of fate.

While she was sitting alone outside of their house, a little boy went towards her.

"Hi! are you our new neighbor?"

"Would you like to play with us?" he asked while smiling at her.

But she didn't reply. She just looked at him.

"My name is Devin Riley and I live nearby!"

"Everyone says my name is a little bit weird because if you change the last letter of my first name it will sound like a devi... but I'm a good boy, Okay! hehehe." he added.

"What is your name?"

"My name is..." she didn't finish what she was saying because...

His friends already calling him, "Devin, what are you doing? Hurry up!"

"I'm coming!~" he replied.

"We're going to play, you should come too. Let's go!" he said as he held her hand and helped her up.

"Okay!" she replied with a gentle smile.

At the park.

One of his friends asked him, "Who's going to be your princess, Devin?"

*Thinking

"Hmmm?"

One of the girls said, "Pick me! me! I want to be the princess!"

Other boy shouted with excitement, "Then, I'm going to be the king!"

He went to Blaire and asked her, "Would you like to be my little princess?"

"No~ why he didn't choose me?"

"I want to be the princess too! huuhhuuhuuh!" cried the other girl.

Bago pa man makasagot si Blaire ay agad na hinawakan ni Devin ang mga kamay niya.

One of their friends shouted, "The prince is going to have a big wedding!"

"Yippee! he's going to marry his little princess."

"I'm Prince Devin Riley promise... for better or for worse, for richer or poorer to take care of you for the rest of my life!" he said while looking into Blaire's eyes.

Then, he kissed her forehead.

Their friends shouted, "Whoo~ let's welcome the newlyweds!!!"

"He even promised her that he would marry her for real when they reached the right age."

Since then, the two have become close. They became best friends. Devin is a year older than her. He always goes to Blaire's house to play and whenever his parents go to work they leave him there too. He only comes home when his parents come home from work.

"Devin! andito na ang mama at papa mo!" tawag sa kanya ni Lola Mercedes habang pinagbubuksan ng pinto ang kanyang mga magulang.

"Good evening! Lola Mercedes!" magiliw na bati ng mga ito.

"Maraming salamat po Lola sa pagbabantay kay Devin." aniya ng mama niya.

"Walang anuman! eh... ako nga 'tong dapat magpasalamat dahil nagkaroon ng kaibigan itong apo ko." natutuwang sagot nito habang hawak-hawak si Blaire.

"Oh, baby magpaalam ka na kay Blaire." aniya ng mama niya sa kanya.

Lumapit siya kay Blaire at hinawakan ang mga kamay nito, "I'll be back tomorrow, Okay!" he promised to her.

He slowly brought his face closer to Blaire's ear and he whispered, "My little princess!" and Blaire suddenly felt embarrassed.

The next day.

"Blaire! saan ka pupunta?" nagtatakang tanong ng Lola niya sa kanya.

"Pupunta lang po ako kila Devin at babalik po ako agad Lola!" paalam nito sa kanya habang masayang tumatakbo palabas ng kanilang bahay.

"Oh, sige!"

"Huwag ka lamang magpakahapon at baka maabutan ka ng ulan!" paalala nito.

"Opo!" sagot nito bago tuluyang umalis.

Pagdating niya sa bahay nila Devin.

(Ding~Dong ... Ding~Dong ... Ding~Dong)

She rang the doorbell several times but no one answered. After sometime, the rain started pouring heavily. She waited patiently outside of his house while drenched in the rain.

The heavy rain poured down even more along with the loud roar of thunder. She trembles as she remembers her parents every time it rains heavily.

She waited and waited until it became days, months and years. She never saw Devin again.

He... became a cold-hearted guy and his heart was full of hatred.
