Paranoid

Once the news hit that someone has managed to completely annihilate the White Fang, Ozpin felt like a headache was coming his way. Which only meant one thing or to be specific one person....

Ironwood. Don't get him wrong, he is an important asset to the inner circle (though he is having a sinking suspicion that one of them is a traitor), but he tends to become paranoid. It was one of his greatest flaws with the other being that he is extremely loyal to Atlas. Before he could continue his thoughts, Goodwitch burst into the room.

"James has arrived at Beacon with the Ace Operatives and Winter." She said which caused him to sigh.

"Let's get this over with then," he said with a forced expression on his face. Glynda could only nod as the elevator doors opened and Ironwood walked in.

"Ozpin, I wish to talk about this unknown group that has appeared at the pier." Ironwood said without a moment's hesitation.

"James, there is nothing to discuss." Ozpin said.

"Nothing to discuss?! Ozpin, this group has managed to kill the entire group of White Fang in the middle of the night. Aura did nothing to stop their attack and...." Ironwood started to say before Ozpin interrupted.

"We don't even have any information about who they are, what they look like and where they are. Now I know that you're only trying to get them so you can steal their weapons or learn their abilities." Ozpin said.

"That's not true..." Harriet started to say before a glare from Winter stopped her from continuing further. Harriet was always a proud supporter of Atlas which meant someone or something being more powerful than the kingdom needed to be taken care of quickly ( in her eyes at least). Which is why most of the Ace Operatives needed to keep her in line which some success.

"Ozpin, you know that isn't..." Ironwood started to say before Ozpin continued.

"Then enlighten me and tell me why you want to find them so bad. If it's not for that reason, then do tell us why you want to detain them." Ozpin said.

"I wanted to find them for security reasons. They are still out there and are probably planning on attacking any of the civilians out there." Ironwood said.

"At the moment, it looks like they're only taking down the White Fang and have not attacked any of the civilians." Ozpin said.

"Yet." Ironwood said.

"James, I wish to make peace with this unknown group which could only happen if you wouldn't let your paranoia get in the way." Ozpin said.

"Paranoia?! I'm not being paranoid, I was just..." Ironwood said.

"Listen James, they could be the key on finally stopping Salem. Unlike us, she has managed to stay in the shadows which could go badly for us. We need new allies and frankly...I wish to have a friendly chat with this group without them being afraid of all of us backstabbing them or inflicting harm." Ozpin said.

"Fine! Have it your way, Ozpin. Just know that once that stupid plan of yours fails that I will take appropriate action against this group." Ironwood said as he turned around and headed out. Once he was gone along with the rest of his soldiers, Ozpin frowned at the way the discussion ended.

"Is everything alright, Ozpin?" Glynda said.

"No. I fear that James may do something that could end badly for all of us." Ozpin said.

"Then what do you suggest we do?" Glynda said.

"We have to find this unknown group soon or James may destroy any chance of gaining new allies to end Salem." Ozpin said. Glynda nodded and quietly went back to doing her duties while Ozpin waited for Qrow to arrive so he could figure out who the unknown group are. Unaware that he was going to make a deal that could make or break Remnant.

Forever.

Hope you enjoyed...Bye 👋
