Chapter 2

Annabeth's POV

"Seaweed brain,can you tell me where are we going?" I asked,getting impatient.He just shook his head,with a playful grin on his lips.

"Nope."He simply replied,looking at me from the driver's mirror with a sense of satisfaction.

I gave up trying and turned myself away from him to look outside the window.

"You are so cute when you do that."Percy said.I can just imagine the smile on his face already.

I ignored him.Soon,I felt tired.I shut my eyes,hoping I would get the answer soon.

I groaned.I felt myself being shaken awake.

"We are here wise girl."I slowly opened my eyes.The first thing I smelt was the salty sea.I looked in the distance and saw the waves crashing against the rocks.We were at a beach,but it was definitely not familiar to me.

"Where are we?"I asked as I got out of the car.It almost seemed familiar but I could not remember the answer.

"This is Montauk beach."Percy said,as he came back carrying a picnic basket and a large duffel bag.Now I knew why it was so familiar.Percy brought me here after the battle with Gaia which was a year ago.

"Where did you get that?"I had never seen him carry a picnic basket and a duffel bag when we left his apartment.

"Oh this,I drove back to my apartment to get them while you slept.Hehe..."He laughed unsurely,his cheeks turning pink.

I giggled at him.Oh Percy...

I took the picnic basket from him and intertwined my hand with his.

Percy's POV

I stared at my beautiful girlfriend before me.Her blonde curls tied back in a ponytail,her grey stormy eyes I had never forgotten when I was at the Roman camp,her courage and wisdom that kept me alive till today.

I would have never imagined such a perfect woman would come into my life,and I thank The Fates for intertwining our lives in the same destiny.

I was sure that she was the one I wanted to be with forever.I had never been more sure in my life,but marriage would have to wait.

Im not even sure if Athena would approve.I would definitely be turned into a fish or even worse,lose my life.

I just hope that Athena would accept me.

"Percy,are you alright?"Annabeth asked,eyes full of concern.I knew she was troubled as she called out my name.

"Im fine wise girl.Just relax."I smiled in response.

"You aren't."She said,not backing down.She always knew when I was trying not to worry her over a serious matter,but she always knew that I would keep my troubles to myself and not let anyone know about it.

"Please Annabeth.Not now.I will tell you after dinner."I reassured her.

Her shoulders relaxed,but I knew she was still tense.

I placed my hand on her lower back and rubbed gently as we went nearer to the shore.

Annabeth's POV

The waves,they were just gorgeous.Ripples formed as each wave crashed.The salty breeze made me feel comforted and I pulled out my hair tie,releasing my blonde wavy curls.

"It's beautiful,Isn't it?Percy sighed.

I just nodded and I turned around.Behind me I saw a picnic blanket with two wine glasses on it.

"I hope you don't mind sandwiches from your favourite bakery for dinner,since I cant cook."He said nervously.

I shook my head and sat down, my legs crossed together,across him.He instantly relaxed and he popped open a bottle and poured some into my glass.

"You do know we are not allowed to dri-",Percy cut me off,"It's sparkling apple cider."

I smiled."Cheers."Our glasses clinked and I took a sip.The taste was amazing.

"Where did you get this?"I asked amazed.

"Secret."He smirked,teasing me again.

I rolled my eyes at his response as he handed me my favourite sandwich.Our meal was peaceful and simple.

That was what I liked about Percy.He knew exactly what I wanted.I didn't need a fancy restaurant or a fancy meal just to make me happy.

I just needed the sincerity of what he does,and thats what always made me admire him.

He is humble even though he is the saviour of Olympus.Percy has a good heart,just like Sally.She definitely raised him well.

For our dessert,we had chocolate covered strawberries and also some grapes.

We threw the grapes at each other,trying to catch it with our mouthes.Percy caught most of them while I caught only one.

Percy chuckled every time I tried to catch one."You are just adorable."

I rolled my eyes and crawled over to his side.We sat there admiring the sun as it lowered on the horizon.The sky looked like a painting,with oranges and reds mixed together to form a beautiful picture.

"I wish it was like this every day."I muttered.

"Me too."He sighed.

We just sat there together,Percy talking about his earlier memories here with his mom.

We laid down,looking at the stars.I started pointing out the different constellations and he just stared at me.

"Were you listening?"Percy shook his head,a mischievous smile on his face.

"I want to to give you something."his face serious when he said it.Percy sat up retrieving a small box from his pocket.

I sat up facing him,curiosity building up inside me.He retrieved a necklace from the box.

I turned around and held my hair to one side,so he could clasp the necklace on.

Once he was done,I admired the heart locket.Percy's hands from behind me opened it with a click.

On the left side was the initials SB+WG and on the right was an emerald gem like Percy's sea green eyes.I closed it and turned around,throwing my arms around him,resting my hands on his nape,to give him a long kiss.

"I love it so much."I whispered as I pulled away from the kiss.

"If you ever feel alone,you could always look at the locket to comfort you."

"Oh Percy..."

"Thats not all...It's my promise to you that we would always be together and we would get married..Just not now."He said with it such sincerity it pulled my heart strings.

Tears started to form and soon I was crying.Happiness swelled inside me.

"I love you seaweed brain."I let out,kissing him with more passion than before.

Percy fell back,me on top of him,kissing fervently.I pulled away,admiring how his jet black hair was swept on one side,his emerald-like eyes filled with love.I knew that I wanted him to be my husband.

"I love you too wise girl."
