Indian team management has opted to rest its star batter Virat Kohli and vice-captain KL Rahul for the final game after sealing their first-ever series against South Africa at home.
India VS South Africa 3rd T20I: Out of three matches two are done and the men in blue have won both of them. For the third and final match, it is said that some players will take a rest and be substituted by someone else.
Two players, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul will be rested from the final match.

Shreyas Iyer is likely to take Kohli's place in the starting XI. Rahul is also taking a break. Hence Suryakumar Yadav or Rishabh Pant will replace him in the opening pair with Rohit Sharma.
October 4th's final match in the three-match series between India and South Africa may not seem like much. But it will provide the men in blue bowlers with good practice before the T20 World Cup.

A BCCI official confirmed, "Yes, both Virat and Rahul have been rested from the final T20I." Once their series against the Proteas is over, Kohli and Rahul will meet up with the rest of the team in Mumbai.
This is before flying to Australia on October 6 for the T20 World Cup. Shreyas Iyer, the backup hitter, is slated to replace Kohli in the playing XI for the last game with South Africa.
T20 World Cup India Team: Rahul is also taking a break. Suryakumar Yadav or Rishabh Pant will replace Rahul in the opening duo with Captain Rohit Sharma.
Indian Team For T20 World Cup: There is currently no second backup batsman on the team. Therefore either Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, or Shahbaz Ahmed could see some playing time.
