In a far distant city of Nobilis where royalty and nobility is at it's highest, where riches go far and beyond what any person can imagine, and only the most proud and refined stay on top. Inside such a dazzling city lies rumors of a certain theater, a theater only a selected few can enter and whenever the participants' leave, the reviews are majorly if not always positive.

"Such marvelous display!"

"Indeed it was!"

Positive reviews sprouted here and there without stopping and soon by the sheer popularity, the fabulous performances that lie within, soon became common knowledge to the city folk. Any person that has been selected to step forward by the performers on display, is to be called an "Actor's Covenant". These covenants must wear their finest garments, their most fragrant perfumes and colognes, and must possess some of the finest behavior within the theater. However, there is something the cityfolk can never forget.
The very reason why such a theater became popular in the first place, the "Scarlet Requiem". Many of remarks of this actor speak of "Movements as elegant as a swan" and having the "Voice of an angel" but in summary, every remark, comment, and mention has clearly stated that the "Scarlet Requiem" must be worthy to be proclaimed an "Actor of actors". But one day, among the covenants, a young boy, named Alto, was one of the selected participants. Although it is an honor beyond understanding to become a covenant, ashamed was Alto for he only has a torn brown rag to wear, complimented by a gnarly scent and an appearance so repulsive, it led to gossip admist the other covenants.

"Is this boy truly a covenant?"

"Such horrid sight!"

"How tedious of them to have chosen such a dastardly child!"

Although the gossip spread like wildfire, Alto has not spoken up about any of the backstabbing insults uttered from his peers. Even though the young Alto had all the right to act, for why should he argue if they were correct?

Soon time passed, and two actresses with slim hourglass figures open the gates. As the gates opened, the eager covenants entered with their heads up high whereas the young Alto entered the stage with his head hung low, hidden within the bunch. Inside the theater, lies a crimson red carpet to welcome the covenants, guiding them towards their seats. Their seats were laced in a soft and refined velvet red with a golden nameplate at the bottom. May the heavens say that lady luck was upon the young Alto's side as his seat lies in the frontmost center, although Alto simply has taken what was rightfully his, the other covenants began to glare at him with a strong malice.

After a couple minutes have passed the actors and actresses has taken the stage thus the crowd became silent. The performance started with a dance, followed by an orchestra, then storytelling and poetry. After each of the plays came to an end rosy red curtains befell upon he stage although the crowd was already dazzled by the previous acts they knew this would be the best. The curtains then opened and there they saw the "Actor of actors" the "Scarlet Requiem" but amongst the massive crowd cheering the young Alto was stunned for the actor on the stage was not an actor at all but rather an actress.

The actress in particular had luscious red hair, fair white skin, and a figure of great proportion that any young man would fall head over heels almost instantly. All the covenants stared at awe left in silence by the appearance. After a short bow "Scarlet Requiem" began to sing and as beautiful as she appeared it was also as melodic. The covenants were fascinated, every pitch she shifted to, every word she said, every breath she took, they were left speechless only able to say one word "Beautiful" with every covenant lost in the performance some even shedding silent tears. When the song came to it's conclusion "Scarlet Requiem" then and left the stage as the curtains closed behind her. Applause and cheer began to roar all around the theater. Soon all the covenants then left the gates of the theater making comments on their experience. Alto on the other hand let out a bittersweet grin.
