Orochimaru put a seal on Naruto hoping to cut off his connection to the Nine-Tails.This was his mistake.This mistake would lead to Naruto awakening a dark power.

"Will Neji Hyuuga and Naruto Uzumaki come down to the arena." Genma Shiranui
Neji came down.

"If he doesn't arrive in 10 minutes he will be disqualified." Genma Shiranui
"Where is the dobe." Sasuke
"Don't worry Sasuke Naruto will definitely show up." Kakashi
The other jonin were surprised when Kakashi arrived early. They thought it might have been a genjutsu.
