Chapter 1
Elsie had just joined . Big school something she had been so prepared,so excited for . She was almost certain that if she had Lyla and met some nice new friends , then nothing could go wrong for her . for the first two weeks school was going so well she had made a few new friends in her form and rugby outside of school was really kicking off now . "This was it" she thought "I'm going to have a perfect year"
After her first couple of weeks at big school all she wanted to do is chill out on the Saturday so that's what she did . She was upstairs with her mum talking to her , relaxing .
She loved her mums bed it was so comfy
Every thing was bliss . She litteraly couldn't care less about anything other than being we're she was
Chapter 2
Her mum got a phone call .
Elsie mouthed to her mum "who is it"
Her mum mouthed back "it's Augusta ,Kevin's mam" ,Elsie instantly got so excited. See Kevin was Elsie's best freind , he had Down syndrome and was the year above her at school . He was now in his second year at a school which properly helped him . But she hadn't seen Kevin since he left to go to his secondary school . Yet they still kept in touch through their mums .
She was so excited, thinking that maybe Augusta wanted to take her out for the day with Kevin . She was instantly giddy thinking she would see Kevin seen as though it's been so long . This phone call was such a good surprise she thought
She would be right though it was a suprise
Chapter 3
Nothing could of prepared her for what was about to happen
Elsie watched as her mums face slowly dropped
Elsie felt a whole shaped in heart , she feared the worst
She was right to do so
Her mum now on the verge of tears comforted her and explained " I'm sorry Els , but Kevin's passed away" , her mums face now soaked with tears
Elsie just watched her mum as she tried to understand what she had just told her .
"What do you mean" , she said barely being able to see her mums face now as her own eyes were blurry from the tears
"He's gone Elsie "
These three words still cling to every last bit of love she has left
Chapter 4
She hated seeing her mum cry so tried to forget about herself and comfort her mum she told her " come on mum don't cry he wouldn't like that" , these words which comforted her mum were at the back of her mind reassuring her also . Saying that everything would be fine
It was brutal the pain
She couldn't think straight for days
She just wanted him back she wanted her best friend back
She couldn't really understand how she would overcome this
Chapter 5
It had been a while now she didn't go to Kevin's funeral she just couldn't face it .
She was in her third year of secondary school now and she had met the most wonderful girls in the whole world
Deep down she knew that Kevin had sent her the girls that's how much she missed him though everything reminded her of him
Elsie knew that he was so special as she began to tolerate the pain
It was getting more bearable now
She was finally getting better
She just knew that she had to be happy because what's the point of kevin watching her if she was always so miserable
"I'm scared of dying mummy" these were the words that little Elsie said when death was a strange concept . A concept she thought she would never quite wrap her head around . Elsie being me .
I'm not a little girl anymore and I'm not scared of dying anymore . Because I know that he will be there waiting
