Wills pov:
Talking was always my weakness, either I would be too scared to talk or I would talk without ever stopping, no in-between. I was currently in 6th period, math. My least favorite period, I mean, I don't hate it that much since Mike sits next to me -- Mike is my bestfriend, he's been with me since like, kindergarten and we're already in our 2nd year of highschool- anyways, back to what I was saying. Mike sits next to me during 6th period and usually it's just me talking while he's listening or zoning out.
I don't usually mind or care if he zones out since I still get little head nods or smiles sometimes.
We were both currently walking to math since 5th period is lunch. During lunch I was doing the same thing I always did, rant or vent to him about what has happened. I told him about something that El had told me earlier, and something that happened during PE, I weirdly could never stay on subject so I would jump from one story to another then back to another one.
When we got to the class we both sat down, 2nd row of the front. I was ranting while we both were working on the computers since the teacher told us to work on assignments we have due in her class, or any other teachers class.
After a while of me talking while doing my work Mike finally opened his mouth to talk -- but he let out a long sigh. "Will, do you ever actually shut the fuck up?" Mike said while rolling his eyes and taking his earphones out. "Oh, uhm, I'm sorry." Was all I could muster. A surprised but hurt expression on my face.
3rd pov:
'Am I really that annoying? I.. wasn't talking too much was I? I was trying to limit my words.. i- ugh. I hate this.' was all Will could think off till he sighed and rolled his eyes too. For the rest of the class period Will kept quiet, not talking unless it's to answer a question. Not even during 8th period, that's the class Will has with Mike and a couple of other friends, hence why they were wondering 'what the hell? Why isn't he talking even though he's usually the most cheerful'. The entire day Mike was waiting for Will to say anything, or talk about his day but it never came, even in 9th period, their last class, the one Will talks the most in since its the end of the day. Nothing.
'I didn't hurt him did I? I mean.. I love Will with my whole heart but fucking hell, he needs to shut up for once.. hes always fucking talking and I've had it.' While they were finally walking to Wills house Will didn't even utter a word, no stories, no jokes, no nothing, just pure silence, it was usually Will leading the conversations since he knew Mike had trouble starting and leading conversations, but this afternoon, Will seemed like he had more trouble talking then Mike. .
"No stories today Will?" Mike said, followed by a little laugh to try to make Will smile, "No." Will shook his head and continued walking.
Usually after school or right when Mike drops Will off at his house, Will texts or calls Mike but today Will had second thoughts and decided not to since it would probably annoy Mike. So he just decided not to and to just scroll on his phone. Later Will got a text from Mike. It read
Mike🤏: 'Heyy, whatcha doinn?'
Will: 'Nothin'
Mike🤏: 'That's cool, wanna hang out?'
Will: 'Not today, sorry'
Mike🤏: 'okay then, wanna call?'
Will: 'Im busy, sorry'
Mike🤏: 'Okay, let's just chat then?'
Will just ended up leaving Mike on read, he really didn't want to disturb or bother him.
Mike on the other hand was wondering what he did wrong and why Will didn't want to talk to him, did he really hurt him that bad? He didn't mean to. Will was just talking too much.
Time skip
The rest of the week Will just ignored mike or didn't talk to him because Will didn't want to annoy him. Usually Will would skip classes that he had with Mike and even skip out on lunch just to not see him.
Eventually Mike sort of gave up, giving Will some space.
