"You wouldn't believe me if I told you" Denise sat in a small room with very few windows and ugly green walls that made Denise sick. She was waiting and wanting to leave.
"Denise I've heard a lot of crazy things from people, I'm sure I've heard worse things" Denise's therapist tried to console her fears but it wasn't working "just tell me what happened" Denise shifted in her seat uncomfortable about the place she was in and this stranger she was supposedly supposed to open up to "aren't you a mandated reporter?" The therapist lady nods her head confirming Denise's suspicions "Yes, but only if I suspect you're a danger to yourself" Denise looks at the lady sitting across from her "What if I am? What if I'm some lunatic waiting to kill myself?" The lady looks over her glasses looking unimpressed with Denise's blatant and unassuming sarcasm "look Denise, I'm not like other people or therapists you've met, I don't care why you're here or what you have to say or even about you yourself really" Denise was unfazed by her therapists words, the therapist could clearly see that and sighed "Im just here to provide you clarity and support, It's not my job to get attached and care about you" Denise, much uninterested but forced to be there gave in "You never told me your name" the therapist finally looked up from her notepad and crossed her legs "my name is Erika"
Denise was staring to get nervous, and when she was nervous she would itch her hands. outside of the people who knew about the situation this would be the only person she told and that ultimately, was against the rules "If I tell you this you need to know that once you know there's no going back from here" the therapist nods as she listens taking occasional notes "you could die, I could die" she paused to itch her hands some more then continued "and a whole fuck ton of people would-" the therapist put her manicured hand up as a gesture to get Denise to stop talking "I get it" she puts her hand down and nods her head to Denise nudging her to continue on "It started my second year of college"
