(This first part follows Emma as she starts school in Hawkins, makes friends and certainly enemies. Just a few slightly smutty parts nothing too heavy. Revolves around Emmas junior year and Eddies second senior attempt. Circles a lot around Emma being badly hurt by a guy her second day at school and winding up in the hospital, then being confined to her couch for weeks on end. But she does have Eddie!)

I look up at the letters on the side of the building in front of me HAWKINS HIGH SCHOOL

Yeah... I can do this, it's just 2 more years then school is over. I was lucky I was accepted in the right year for my age when moving here. The school system differs in the US from Sweden where I grew up. I guess having my dad come work for the biggest car dealership in these parts has it's advantages. There might have been some money exchanging owner's too... I do not give a damn. I just want to graduate and go back home. That's the plan, 2 years of high school here then apply to university back in Sweden. I wasn't here by choice and I felt an aversion to everyone. I sigh and I step in to the school building. There's people everywhere looking at me, teachers and students alike. Yeah this is going to be fun... I hold my head high and I ignore the looks and the whispers.

"Administration and enrolment" I read on a sign in the ceiling, ok so that's where I need to get to. I turn in to that corridor, oh great more people. This school didn't look big from the outside but it holds a hell of a lot of curious people... Another sigh and I just keep going. I find where I needed to go and I enter.

"Hello?" I say to the lady behind the desk

"Oh, hello. Can I help you?" she smiles, strangest thing about America so far. Everyone's so smiley... like all the time?

"Yeah, I'm new. I was supposed to come here and get my locker number, schedule and I don't know if there was anything else" I say and I smile back, my inner swede feeling really weird

"Fun! Welcome to Hawkins high sweetheart. I hope you'll like it here. Can I just have your name?"

"Emma Lundberg" I say

"Oh, that's a name I haven't heard before. Not from around here?" again with the big smile

"No, I'm from Sweden, just got here last week" I really need to work on this small talk thing.

"Sweden!? Oh dear that's far away, say is your dad the nice man that came here to work for Mr Carver?" she's flipping through a stack of papers pulling some out as she speaks

"Yes ma'am, he is. Word travels fast I see" I give her yet another smile

"Well, not much happens here in Hawkins....or well nothing good anyway" that last part she's saying more to her self than to me. I wonder what she meant by that?
"Here you go; schedule, map of the school so you can find your classes, your locker number and some other important information you might need. If there's anything just come see me or ask any of your peers. Again a very warm welcome to Hawkins I hope you'll feel right at home" she eyes me when she says this. I know why, they all eye me up and down. I don't fit in, not here and not at home.

"Thank you, I'm sure everything's going to be great. Just need to get a hang of things" I say and I leave the office.

I look down at the papers she gave me. So according to the map my locker isn't far away, so start there I suppose. I head down, what I suppose is the right corridor. I look at the numbers on the lockers instead of where I'm going, and of course I walk right in to someone.

"Ouch! Watch where you're going" I hear a voice say

"Fuck, sorry... I tried to find my locker. Did I hurt you?" I look at the guy in front of me standing there rubbing his head.
