Chapter 02

When I arrived to school it was lunch time. Since my parents and I aren't quite on speaking terms they didn't wake me up for school, I was in such a hurry that I think I wore the same shirt from yesterday. I walked in the cafeteria and saw my crew; Nathan, Johnny,Byrian and Osborne. They were all talking about the punishment's there parents gave them " My mom is making me soak her feet everyday after school for the next two months" Osborne said. " Yeah.. Well you guys' punishment is nothing compared to mine." I said thrilled " Yeah?" The gang" said altogether " My parents gave me absolute freedom" The gang looked confused, They didn't understand why such a thing could be a punishment, I continued talking. "That night when they picked me up from the police station They stopped talking to me, They won't tell me what to do, They won't wake me up, they won't even cook for me" The gang chattered all together like how you here in school assemblies when the students in the crowd go wild. " That's great" bryian said and then high fived me. "Monae Freeman officially free!" After school I went home to see my brother Jackson who had been missing for two years because of the milltary. I was so Happy to see him I did every nice greeting in the book. I smiled, I said welcome back, I hand- hugged him, I hugged him, I shook his hand, I have him a kiss on the cheek, I bowed, I curtsied. I did everything possible I was slightly angry with my parents or not because whenever Jackson came to town mom always texted me, I checked my phone just to make sure that I didn't miss a notification, but I didn't. " What are you doing here" I asked Jackson, Even though he was happy to see me he had a look of disappointment on his face. " Monae we need to talk" Jackson said, And like that I knew that mom and dad had talked. Just not to me.
