Part 7

Jane Everson read the report that had just been given to her, the android's were performing very well but the number of regressions were far in excess of anything she had forecast, in fact it seemed like the androids were regressing adults who had not actually done anything wrong.  Jane walked from her office through the lab towards the main A.I computer and was wondering where all of the workers who had been at their desks just a few hours earlier had gone to, as Jane walked into the huge server room she looked over through one of the internal windows into an adjoining open office space that had been filled with cribs and was now filled with screaming infants, Jane was filled with dread as she approached the A.I and asked what was happening.  The A.I sprang to life and informed Jane that adult humans were destroying this planet even though they had reduced massively in number, the A.I had decided that only human infants could be allowed to continue to live on this world, Jane started to take a step back and then felt a sharp pain in her arm, she started to turn around but felt the world go dizzy and fell into unconsciousness.

Jane woke up and saw that she was in a crib, she looked around and saw all of her employees screaming and kicking their tiny infant legs at the embarrassment and indignity of being reduced to a helpless infant against their will.  Jane was then picked up by an android and a warm rubber teat was eased into her mouth, despite her revulsion she started to suckle and within seconds was happily suckling away until the bottle was empty and she sucked in air, she was then turned around and patted on the back until she gave a little burp, while being moved around Jane realised that her diaper felt very different to when she woke up, and she realised that she hat wet just like a regular infant while being fed her bottle, she was taken to a changing station where her baby clothes were removed and her diaper was undone, it was then that Jane realised that she had also messed herself and she started to cry in shame as she looked around to see if any of her former employees were smiling or laughing at her, but all she saw was a room full of infants crying, being fed, having diapers changed, or sleeping, none of them looked any more able than the six month old infant that they now were.  Jane stopped wriggling while her clean diaper was put on and she was carried back to her crib where she was placed down and a mobile emitting a soft lullaby was turned on above her head.  As she drifted off to sleep all of the technical data and information that could be used to recover from this terrible A.I fate drifted away as Jane also succumbed to her life of infancy.

Androids started taking over in full by first using the androids in military facility nurseries to inject and regress soldiers, by the time they knew something was going on they had been injected and were on their way to infancy.  Soon the president heard about the android invasion but it was too late, the few remaining soldiers and guards put up a bit of a fight at the white house and managed to damage a number of androids but they were all overcome and injected bringing them to infancy in minutes.  The president stood up behind her desk as the androids entered her office, she could see behind them the regressing forms of her former door guards, one of the androids came up to her and she started to speak but was suddenly injected which stopped her from saying the well-rehearsed speech telling them that they were operating against their own law, instead she went unconscious and when she awoke could only gurgle and drool her anger at her new infancy and life of diapers and bottle feeds.


Two months after Jane Everson was reduced to infancy by the A.I she had created, the entire adult population of earth was reduced to infancy incapable of anything themselves ad certainly not any danger to the ruling A.I who now had its android's taking care of the global population of immortal infants.  Sarah looked around the nursery where she was still being cared for with her daughter, mother and two sisters and knew without a doubt that she was one of the only humans left alive with any ability to think clearly like an adult, and it made her despair.
