After leaving Gil behind, the villain kids led Y/N to their old apartment where they knew Mal would be staying.

"Come on." Jay said before throwing a rock at the metal sign that said Danger Flying Rocks. The gate opened to reveal the stairs and Evie pushed Y/N towards them.

"Wish me luck." Y/N said nervously as she looked back at the others.

"All the way up." Jay told Y/N as she started to walk up the stairs.

"Good luck." Evie called after Y/N.

Inside the apartment, Y/N found Mal spray painting on one of the walls.

"At least I don't see a picture of me with horns and a pitchfork." Y/N said softly as she watched Mal paint.

Mal turned around with a gasp. "Y/N." Y/N started to walk over to her but Mal put her hands up to stop her.

"Mal, I'm so sorry about our fight." Y/N said honestly. "It was all my fault. Please come home." Y/N continued as she held out her ring.

Mal climbed down from where she was standing and put down the can of spray paint before walking over to Y/N. "Y/N... I am home."

"I brought the limo. It's a sweet ride." Y/N said nervously.

"I don't fit in, Y/N." Mal told Y/N sadly. "I really gave it my best shot. And if you think that I could change, I think you're wrong."

"Then I'll change." Y/N told Mal. "I'll skip school, have more fun. You know, I'll blow off some more responsibilities."

"No, no." Mal cut Y/N off. "See, I'm such a terrible influence. It's only a matter of time before I do something so messed up that not only does the kingdom turn on me, but they turn on you."

"Don't quit us, Mal." Y/N told Mal as she put her ring in Mal's hand. "The people love you. I love you." Mal looked at Y/N in shock. "Don't you love me?"

Mal looked down at the ring in her hand and smiled sadly before placing it back in Y/N's hand and closing her fingers around the ring. "I have to take myself out of the picture because it's what's best for you, and it's what's best for Auradon."

"No, Mal, no, please." Y/N pleaded as she stepped closer to Mal. Mal took a step back as tears came to her eyes.

"Y/N..." Mal said softly and sadly. "I can't do this." She continued as she picked up the can of spray paint again. "You should go, Y/N. Y/N, please go. Please leave." She continued as Y/N continued to stand there. Mal started to cry after Y/N left the apartment.

Downstairs, the others stood up as Y/N walked down the stairs.

"So..." Evie said as Y/N came down. "Where's Mal?"

"She's not coming back." Y/N told the others sadly.

"What?" Evie exclaimed. "I'll talk to her." Evie told the others as she walked over to the microphone and Y/N walked away from the group. "M. Mal, it's Evie." Evie said into the microphone. "Let me just talk to you for a second. Mal, come on."

Upstairs, Mal walked over to a lever and pulled it. "Go away." Mal shouted into the microphone.

Downstairs, Jay walked over to Evie as she let out a sigh. "Let's give her a couple hours to cool off." Jay told her sadly.

"Guys." Carlos called out, worried, and the others walked over to him. "Where's Y/N?"

"Y/N?" Evie called out softly. "Y/N!" They let out signs of relief when they saw someone, who they thought was Y/N, walking over to them. "Y/N, don't scare us like that."
