YAMU TETSUO, THE NUMBER ONE MIDDLE BLOCKER IN THE NATION!
an 18 year old representative of the Japan U19 National Team, playing in the Miyagi Prefecture, for powerhouse team Karasuno High, the 2.12 meter tall blocker brought his team to victory year after year. single handedly forming an impenetrable wall in front of the net, the Karasuno defence is looking like an iron fortress yet again! coupled with the sensational libero, Nishinoya Yū, with whom he has impeccable chemistry, Karasuno will be amazing to watch for yet another year.
Skill analysis:
Spiking: 10/10
his powerful spikes blow away any blockers in front of him, and his incredible body control brings him pinpoint accuracy allowing him to place his spikes in the toughest spots on the court! his flexible wrists allow him to send spikes with a nasty spin, ricocheting off even the most accomplished receivers!
"His spikes are insane! probably better than Kiyoomi over here! the spin and the power is incredible, and his control is amazing. i hope i never have to receive those spikes *quivers*" — Komori Motoya, Itachiyama Institute, U19 representative
Receiving: 9/10
many expect middle blockers to be less accomplished when it comes to receiving, but Yami Tetsuo defies all expectations! easily one of the most best receivers in his prefecture, his large frame allows him to reach seemingly impossible positions to keep the ball in the air!
"ARGHHHHH HE'S SO ANNOYING!!! every time i try to hit into the back row 'Suo is always there! how can anyone put a spike past them if one guy can cover the whole court in one step? honestly it was kinda lucky that he sprained his ankle and had to sit out, or we would've lost!" — Bokuto Kotaro, Fukurodani High School U19 representative
Blocking: immeasurable!
with his 3.02m reach and 2.22m long wingpan, Yami is practically born for blocking! his incredible observation skills and game knowledge allow him to get in front of practically any spike! let's not forget his 1.29m jump, one of the highest in the world! this man is beyond perfection for a middle blocker. No wonder he's ranked number 1 on the global Middle Blockers list!
"His blocking is...amazing. No wonder we lost to Karasuno. He shut my team down with relative ease, but i still believe he is wasting his potential. To fulfil his potential, he should've come to Shi-" — Ushijima Wakatoshi, Shiratorizawa High School, U19 Japan representative
Setting: 8/10
Despite it not being his position, Yami has displayed extraordinary setting skill! with the ability to pinpoint his spiker's contact point and calculate everything in a mere millisecond, all his emergency sets have resulted in points scored! However, not much can be said simply due to the fact that we have not seen enough of Yami Tetsuo setting.
"His sets are impeccable. considering he is a middle blocker, he can truly do it all. his sets don't even make sense to me! the feeling of perfection is the weirdest thing in the world, its like he knows what we want before we say anything! and this praise is coming from a setter!" — Oikawa Tooru, Aoba Johsai High, U19 representative
Serving: 10/10
Yami Tetsuo has one of the best serves in the nation, if not the world. His amazing power, height and athleticism make his serves the equivalent of a spike, but from the service line! if you hear gunshots outside a stadium, worry not, its probably Yami practicing his serves! he once blew up a volleyball from a single serve, during a game against Fukurodani High School.
"Those serves...they terrify me to this day. just when i think the serve toss is too high, he jumps and meets it, practically flying. once he hits is, god the sound is so disorienting! before you know it, you feel a breeze and the ball is behind you! absolute madness." — Konoha Akinori, Fukurodani High School
There you have it! Yami Tetsuo is an incredibly complete player, with incredible physical talent! coaches and scouts everywhere are scrambling for him, and god knows what he's going to do this year!
