There once was a little girl who lived at an inn with her parents. They used her innocence to their advantage against customers. Her parents soon gained a reputation throughout the town of stealing their customer's accessories. The girl also had a younger brother who they taught to steal. But this boy was smarter and soon realized that they did not truly love him, so he refused to steal and was kicked out soon after. The girl was too naive to see that her parents were using her. As she grew up her parents used her less and less and became abusive towards her. Her father would beat her countless times throughout the day. She soon began to see what her brother saw years ago, but stayed anyway. She feared that if she left the inn her parents would beat her again. One night she was cleaning up after her father and his drunken gang, and accidentally tipped her father's beer over. He decided to show off to his friends and beat her with one of the wooden chairs in front of them. Everyday she wondered what it was like to be loved, but she pushed that idea away long ago because she never thought anyone would love her. After her father broke the wooden chair over her head she'd had enough. She was bloody and bruised but crawled to her room for bed. Many nights she dreamed of running away and being free, and tonight she would make that dream come true. She smiled at the thought of being around loving people. But she soon learned that the streets were just like the inn. The citizens kicked her, called her nasty names, and pushed her out of the way. Her father wouldn't stop looking for her either. She spent every day avoiding him and every night searching for a dry, safe place to sleep. When he did find her though he would take her back to the inn and beat her senseless. One night after one of her beatings she wandered the star-lit streets and slumped down on the side, letting her head bleed endlessly onto the cobble stone street wishing she would die. Her eyes had just shut when a man of about the same age saw her laying in a puddle of blood. He feared he might be too late to save her, but he approached her anyway and quickly recognized her from the cafe he visited daily. She was one of the only girls bold enough to enter there, and he often admired her bright eyes and young face. She stirred from her almost-sleep and opened her eyes to see him kneeling before her. She knew this man from the cafe as well. In fact she loved him a little bit. Their eyes met and somehow she knew she'd be ok now that he was here. He asked her what happened and examined her bleeding head. Carefully, he picked her up and carried her to the house that he shared with his parents. Luckily, his parents had already fallen asleep in their room. He gently cleaned her wounds and bandaged her head, letting her sleep in his bed while he slept on the couch. "Stay with me." She muttered. So he took her cold hand in his and slept beside her out of pity. She had blushed endlessly the night before while he was cleaning her wounds, which intrigued him. When he asked her why she had blushed so much, she reluctantly confessed her love for him. He was shocked and flattered at the same time. When she asked if he had mutual feelings for her he simply placed his lips on hers and said, "There's your answer." As the two were sharing their day together he wondered about his parents, but decided to take her for a walk under the stars that night instead of worrying about them. She had finally found what she was looking for. They talked for hours before walking back to his home, and when they entered his parents were waiting. HIs mother told him he was to be married to a girl named Anette in a month, but he refused saying that he would marry the girl he had fallen in love with so quickly. HIs mother was angered and she began to beat him while the girl who had been beaten almost every day of her life watched helplessly. She finally decided to step in, and she pushed his mother off of him. His mother became furious and cast them both out of the house. They wandered hand-in-hand through the streets until they arrived at his secret home he had purchased a year ago with money he stole from his parents, wishing to escape them. They stayed for a couple weeks until she began getting very sick. When she realized she was pregnant he took her home immediately to reveal the news to his parents, hoping that would get him out of marrying Anette. When he annonced the news to his parents his mother became so enraged that he feared for his love's safety and told her to wait in his room. They were both disappointed in him but his father was very forgiving. Still, his mother would force him to marry Anette and she accused him of betraying his family. He pulled a knife from his pocket and handed it to her telling her to use it on him as she wished, but not to hurt the girl. She stabbed his shoulder which caused him to scream. The girl heard him scream and rushed to help him, not realizing his mother had a knife. His mother quickly grabbed the knife out of his shoulder and turned around, stabbing her in the stomach. She let the knife lay where their unborn child dreamed. The girl gripped at her stomach, hoping to somehow save the child within her, and fell to the ground holding the knife in her. His father contained the mother and pushed her out while his son watched her slowly dying on the floor. She looked to him and acknowledged how cold it was becoming, indicating that she had lost a lot of blood. He quickly called his father and asked him to carry her to the hospital since his shoulder was injured. His father carried her as she fell unconcsious in his arms. They both stayed in the hospital overnight and recieved the news that the baby was gone in the morning. They were both extremely devastated and decided it would be best to stay at his secret house for a few days to greive together. Eventually, she decided she wanted to be on her own and reluctantly left him. She walked the streets alone not caring if her father found her. That same night he found her and he had heard about what happened since they were now the talk of the town. He nearly beat her to death, and again she found herself bleeding endlessly onto the street. Two days later she died of infection. The girl had lost everything multiple times, but at least she was happy when she had it.
